The Kalpana Fellowship Scheme: What It Offers


1. Financial Assistance: The Kalpana Fellowship Scheme will provide financial support to
women pursuing degrees in aerospace engineering. This assistance aims to ease the financial burden
of education, allowing Fellows to focus on their studies and career development.

2. Internship Opportunities: Partnering with Skyroot Aerospace, one of the most innovative
and promising aerospace companies, the scheme offers exclusive internship opportunities for
students. This real-world experience will enable Fellows to gain valuable insights and hands-on
experience in the aerospace industry. The selected students would be offered monthly internship
stipend followed by absorption as full time based on performance. There will be a total number of
Ten Fellowships.

3. Mentorship: Fellows will have the chance to be mentored by experienced professionals in


the field. This mentorship will guide them in their academic and career journeys, fostering growth
and excellence.

4. Exposure to Cutting-Edge Technology: Fellows will gain exposure to state-of-the-art


aerospace technology and participate in projects that push the boundaries of aerospace innovation.
They will be involved in real time development of rockets from design to launch campaign stage
feeling and tasting success.

5. Ongoing Training Sessions & Workshops: Fellows will be exposed to best learning
opportunities from veterans in the space field through regular training sessions and development
workshops.

Eligibility Criteria:

The selection process will be competitive and based on merit, as we seek to identify the brightest
and most dedicated individuals who embody the spirit of Kalpana Chawla. The following categories
are eligible to participate in the Fellowship Scheme:

a. Final Year B.Tech/ MTech/ PhD from Aerospace/ Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ RF
Engineering background

b. Recent BTech/ MTech/ PhD graduates (freshers) of above streams upto 2 years from date of
completion of course.

c. Women on sabbatical and ready to join in 3 months.

Financial Support:

The selected will undergo a fellowship for one year during which they would be paid stipend o
monthly basis as under:

a. BTech Final Year Students – 30K pm


b. MTech Final Year Students – 35K pm
c. Fresher BTech – 50K pm
d. Fresher MTech – 55K pm
e. PhD Completed – 80K pm.

Selection Process - How to Apply:

Interested applicants can visit the Skyrootl website to get detailed information of the Kalpana
Fellowship Scheme on eligibility, application procedures, and deadlines and apply online. The
selection will be done in three stages as under:

a. Stage 1 – Online Test

b. Stage 2 – Case Study/ Problem Statement

c. Stage 3 – Technical Interview
