PERSONAL PROFILE
 Self-confident, ambitious, determined, and self-motivated are four words to describe
me as an aspiring barrister.
 1st year LLB law undergraduate student attending Brunel University
 Multilingual in Yoruba, Spanish and English

KEY SKILLS
 Effective communication which enables me to discuss complex legal matters with
those around me in a clear and apprehensive way, as well as listen to the needs of
others to help them achieve what they desire.
 Being Multilingual ensures that I am able to speak Yoruba, Spanish and English,
which is an asset in a law firm office, as well as chambers. Diversity is a key element
in all aspects of life, therefore, being multilingual means that I can deal with many
individuals such as clients and solicitors. Interacting with more people will allow me
to succour more people.
 Competent user Microsoft office- I would describe myself as being technologically
savvy, allowing me to complete tasks on computers, laptops and iPad. Using word,
PowerPoint, excel and other software necessary for use.
 Innovative thinker- I am a creative individual who can bring a unique insight into the
workplace, especially when shadowing barristers and being able to provide unique
insights into resolving a legal issue.

WORK EXPERIENCE / TRIPS


Pennington Manches July 2018-August 2018
 Shadowed various solicitors at a law firm, working in a range of departments, such as
housing, immigration, and criminal law.
 Took the initiative to ask senior partners how to build commercial art at a young age,
which allowed me to become more aware of the legal sector in the news and
through networking with fellow aspiring lawyers.
 Attended talks by partners at the firm, which gave me a deeper insight into how law
firms are run, client issues and the business side to how law firms are structured.
 Learned about the role of barristers outside of a law firm and their significance in
cases, as they argue the cases in court.

Royal Courts Of Justice School Trip Visit July 2018


 I had a unique opportunity to observe a fraud related case
 I took notes on how the barristers were dressed, their body language and took these
as examples of how I’d aspire to be in the near future.

 I worked as an assistant teacher for year 3-4 pupils
 Role included me assisting the teacher with supporting the lower achieving pupils in
lessons, as well as providing them with the essential mentoring they’d need in both
their social and academic lives.

Dartford Grammar Law Careers Day/ Fair September 2017


 Attended a conference which included a select panel consisting of magic circle or law
firm partners from a range of firms, such as Macfarlenes and Clifford Chance
 I asked many questions relating to gaining experience, commercial awareness, and
ways to excel academically. I left the conference feeling more confident in myself
and knowing I had a clear vision for my legal career.

 Worked at the tills, checking out items for clientele
 Developed an understanding of customer service and how to satisfy the needs of
clients. Which is similar to law as my future client’s needs are important

Private tutoring / mentoring September 2020 -March 2021


 Providing tea teaching support to lower academically achieving students from key
stage one up until GCSE
 Teaching a wide range of subjects including English mathematics and science
 I created it after witnessing first-hand the importance of education, especially during
lockdown and how all students should use it to overcome all their limitations in life

ACHIEVEMENTS
Jack Petchy (January 2018)
 Won the first stage award for me undisputed talents in local community work,
supporting young children with academic support especially from single parent
families.
