TERMINAL REPORT
Background

This Clinical training course for Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image Guided
Radiation Therapy (IGRT) has been done to provide us comprehensive product training for our respective
centers.It has been arranged by Elekta, one of the pioneers in Radiotherapy solutions and been hosted
by the Siriraj Radiation Oncology (SIRO) team.

The Clinical training course for IMRT/IGRT is composed of

1. Introduction of IMRT/IGRT. This includes the lectures with regards to the physics of IMRT. Its
clinical Application and toxicities. Also current dose calculation algorithms used and dose
verifications for planning were included. A part of this topic of comprises the immobilizations
used for IMRT and IGRT

2. Treatment. Lectures that tackle case discussions of the clinical benefits of different sites such as
Head and Neck Cancer, CNS disease, Oligometastasis, Thorax and Esophagus, and Pelvis. This
part of the training also includes hands on contouring, IMRT planning designs with hands on
planning sessions.

3. Simulations. Site visits were also done during the course for the demonstrations of their 4D
CBCT/4D CT simulation. We also went to visit their Versa Hd, Harmony and CyberKnife machines
and others.

Implementations

1. Clinical Team’s Participation. The adaptations of the updates in current protocols for IMRT/IGRT
involves consultation with Radiation Oncologists so that the target protocols will not have a
problem with their standards for patient treatments.

2. Monitoring and Evaluation: Protocols to be implemented will be continuously monitored by

Senior RTTs and MPs to see how the team are making use of these training lessons and how it is
benefitting the Center’s treatment.
