•Artist: Leonardo da Vinci
•History: The Mona lisa painting is so popular that it was painted by Leonardo da Vinci during
1503 and 1519. He was born in April 15, 1452, Anchiano, Italy. Leonardo da Vinci was an artist
and engineer who is best known for his paintings. He worked several years (about 16 years) on
the Mona lisa painting, and died inside his studio at the age of 57 while working on the Mona’s
Lisa painting.

•History: Johannes Vermeer, a dutch artist, was born in October 31, 1632, Delft, Netherlands
and died in the 1675 due to a short illness and in dept at the age of 43. He was born to a lower-
middle class family. Johannes Vermeer was the second child and only son of Reynier Jansz. He
was a An observant and deliberate painter thát produced 36 of his own works included A girl
with a pearl earring. He occasionally signed his paintings. While Girl with a Pearl Earring bears
“IVMeer,” it is undated. Historians believe Vermeer painted the small piece (17.52 × 15.35
inches [44.5 × 39 cm]) around 1665, during the period in which he executed a group of paintings
with a shared pearl motif.
