Writing Structure in
Exposition Text
To write exposition text, there are three structures that must
be learned and applied in your writing. Among others are:

Introduction/Thesis
Arguments
Reiteration/Conclusion

1
Introduction/Thesis
This section serves to introduce the topics that will be
discussed in the text. The introduction usually begins with a
statement of opinion called a thesis statement. This thesis
statement contains the author's clear opinion regarding the
topic, and is the basis for the argument that will be
presented in the text.

Arguments
In this section, the author can explain in more detail the
topic discussed. In arguments, the author also provides
supporting arguments based on logical facts or data. You
can write more than one point of view or perspective. The
goal is to make readers more confident and believe that the
topic being discussed is important.

3
Reiteration/Conclusion
The final part is the conclusion. Here, the author will
repeat the thesis statement and main arguments that have
been presented previously. The purpose of reiteration is to
remind the reader of the author's opinion and provide a
strong conclusion.

6
