abuse, illiteracy, gender inequality,
injustice, poverty, etc.)

speech?
2. What is the advocacy topic and purpose?
3. What active verbs were used?
Example: Improve the lives of our children.
4. What personal pronouns were used to implore the
audience?
Example: I urge you to go out.
5. Describe the features her speech by answering the
following:
a. What rhetorical questions or questions that are
provocative were used?
Example: What can we do? Are we going to just turn
our backs on the problem?

b. Did it use statistics or quantitative figures to prove an


assertion? Cite an example?
c. Did it use hypothetical illustration or a narration of
imaginary incident or a made-up situation as an
example or to explain a point?Cite an example.
d. Did it use testimony from a person? Cite a specific
evidence from the speech.
e. Did it make of factual narrative or a condensed form of
a real story or incident? Cite your evidence.
