Synoptic Situation: Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining
northwestern part of Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Forecast:
Day-1 (commencing 06 PM of 17.01.2024):
Rainfall: Rain/thunder showers is likely to occur at many places over Khulna & Barisal divisions; at a
few places over Dhaka & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur & Rajshahi
divisions. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the
country.
Fog: Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during night to morning and it may continue till
noon at places. Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may disrupt temporarily
due to fog.
Cold wave: Mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Pabna, Chuadanga, Barishal &
Moulvibazar and it may abate.
Temperature: Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Due to foggy
day, cold day condition is likely to prevail at places over the country.
Wind direction and speed at Dhaka : North/North-westerly (08-12) kph.
