READING – CATCH UP FRIDAYS ( every morning)

1. Categorize the learners according to their reading profile in each Key Stage
1.1 Full refresher
1.2 Moderate refresher
1.3 Light refresher
1.4 Grade Ready
1.5 Advanced readers

2. Assign teachers per category of readers based on their capability considering their teaching
loads. Non Reading teachers will take care of the Grade ready and advanced readers

3. Create a class/teacher program during Catch Up Friday

4. School shall provide reading materials according to classification/group of learners aligned to


the competencies per key stage

4.1 Determine appropriate reading activities per category of learners/key stage


For example
 Interactive Story Sessions
 Literary Games
 Book Review/Discussion
 etc
5. Adopt the practice of Collaborative Planning and Review integrating the strategies and sharing
of resources

6. Document learner progress thru various formative assessment.

7. School Head shall take charge of the monitoring and evaluation to be reported to District and
SDO for possible technical assistance

8. Conduct advocacy program involving internal and external stakeholders for possible support
