Hello,

I had the pleasure of working with Gretchen Merrill this season, in her role as manager for our school’s
soccer team. The team had one of its most successful seasons and Gretchen was a big part of that team
experience.

Organization, consistency and leadership are the three main attributes Gretchen brought to the team for
the coaching staff. For the players, and her fellow students, Gretchen was reliable, supportive and
dependable.

Gretchen embodies what it is to lead by example. No matter what the coaches needed, or the players
asked of her, Gretchen was prepared and ready to help however she could. Her demeanor on the sideline
was not only consistent, but consistently positive and ready to help, keep focus and be prepared through
all the ups and downs of a season.

I know that Gretchen’s teammates felt comfortable relying on her, both personally and athletically, and
her steady presence and her dependability allowed them to continue achieving at their best.

We were lucky to have Gretchen this season, as an integral part of our team, as she was a large factor in
the success we had both on and off the field.
I know she would be an asset to any other organization she is a part of.
