Water Balance Program

Program Logic

4

Establish the logic of the Flowsheet using the entities on the sheet.
Update the actual dam levels in the Flowsheet object
Verifiy the information in the keywords of the entities in order to give the program a reference height in the dams
Run the macro and specify the weeks that the program must run.
Week 0 is the start of the year. After r
The results of the program will appear in the Output sheet

Entity information
Use { NAME } to identify the Object. The type of object will determine its function.
The Text box is a Dam
The canister is an overflow
The cylinder is the seepage
The cloud is the precipitation
The sun is the evaporation
The Magnetic tape symbol is the pump

Keywords

The keywords are capitalized and flowed by the equal sign.

The keywords are:
WATERSHED
The water shed of the dam (m)
ABSORP
The percent absorption of the precipitation (the value must be between 0 and 100)
FLOW
The flow rate coming out (m/hr)
HEIGHT
The height of the reservoir (m)
FEED
This is to permit a pump to have no reservoir
SOLID
This is used for pumping and alters the minimum available volume of the receiving o
SCHEDULE
This is used for pumping only and allows pumping during the week. The letter S is u
METAL
This is used to do combined Metal (sumproduct of Metal x Volume) Use any units.
TSS
Total suspended solids
ORDER
This is used to determine the priority of the execution. This is important to sequence

Other information

The direction of the lines identify the flow direction

Connectors are used and not lines to link the objects. The program will not identify lines
The program uses the specific objects. Other objects will not be used whether connect or not.
The pogram uses weeks a as time unit
The program can give a slight buffering effect depending on the sequence of transfer and the ordering of the dataset.
The sequence is serial and not circular. The higher the accuracy, the shorter the time span between the iterations
A one-week cycle has been judged sufficiently accurate for the exercise.
EventData Sheet
This is used to be able to establish events that are one time and can significantly affect the model.
The program is adapted to accept Evaporation events as in the case of a drought or a storm event
