a 12voltage lamp with 2 wires connected.
Test LED is used for testing short circuit
voltage.

Patching cord
This wire is used as testing wire, in short
circuit and body conjunction.

Caution: don not connect the patching

cord between positive voltage and the body
because the wire lever of other electrical
means may damage.

Voltmeter:

Attention:
Male-Female connectors
You can unlock the padlock by making
force on the tab. Pay attention not to pull
the rubber and hold the rubber for discon-
necting.

Significant point during inspec-

tion
While you are going to inspect the current
intensity and resistance by testing mean,
pay attention not to put the testing mean’s

ings:

1- Adjust the tire pressure to the standard

pressure and omit all overloads in the ve-
hicle except, the driver, the spare tire and
the instrument inside the trunk.
2- The vehicle should be placed on smooth
level.
3- Draw the horizontal and vertical lines
passing through the lamp center on the
plane that is faced to you.
4- Adjust the lamp light so that the strong
light placed on horizontal and vertical lines,
after ensuring the good condition of the
lamps and battery. Perform the vertical and

20 Fuse block

Inspection
1- Make sure that the fuses are installed
properly and are not loose.
2- Ensure that each fuse current is as the
specified ampere.
3- Check for the blown fuses. Inspect the
blown fuse cause, and replace it after trou-
bleshooting.

Caution
Do not use a fuse with a capacity higher
than that specified.

Fuses inspection
There are two reasons for the fuse blowing.
After taking off the blown fuse, a simple ap-
parent inspection can show the cause.
1- Blowing fuse due to the excessive cur-
rent: In this case, check the circuit for the
possible short circuit and for the electrical
components malfunction, then after trou-
bleshooting and replacement of the defect-
ed parts; replace the fuse with the specified
ampere.
1: The fuse blown due to the excessive cur-
rent.

SAIPA 141 with new platform/Electrical system repair manual

Fuse block 21

Blowing fuse due to the frequently con-

necting and disconnecting the current:
This defect occurs normally after long time
use and is observed less frequently than
the first case.
1: The fuse blown due to the long time use

Caution
The allowable current in ampere for the
fuses is printed as a number on them. If
the fuse is blown, replace it with the same
capacity.
Do not use a fuse with a higher capacity
than that specified. This can damage oth-
er electrical compo¬nents and can even
cause fire.

Replacing fuse
To remove or replace the fuses, use the
special caliper stored in the fuse box.

Rear window heater element

Inspection
To prevent rear window heater elements from damaging, connect a tin foil to the volt-
meter probes end.
1- Press down the foil by the finger and move it on the element direction to check the
disconnection in the circuit of the heater element.

4: Heater elements

2- Turn on the rear window heater switch

and measure the voltage of each ele-
ment at the centre using a voltmeter. If the
mea¬sured voltage is about 6 volts the ele-
ment is normal.
1: 6 volt (normal)

- If the heater element is burned out at

a point from the middle to the positive
termi¬nal distance, the voltmeter will indi-
cate 12 volts.
1: Burned out point (real)
2: 12 volts

Rear window defogger 45

4- If the heater element is burned out or

broken at a point from the middle to the
negative terminal path, the voltmeter will
indicate zero voltmeter.
1: Burned out point (real)
2: Zero volt.

5- To find the broken point of the element,

move the voltmeter probe gently in the pos-
sible broken direction.
The point at which the voltage varies is the
broken point of the circuit (zero or suddenly
from zero to non-zero).
1: Voltage before and after the disconnec-
tion point of the circuit varies.
2: Terminal (-)
3: Zero voltage at the broken point.

6- Using an ohm-meter, measure the resis-

tance between the centre point of each ele-
ment and the terminal, and the same ter-
minal and the upper and the lower heater
elements. In the disconnected circuit, the
resistance is double as much as the other
circuits.
Move the ohm-meter probe on the defected
part to find the point at which the resistance
suddenly varies.
1: Measurement between the negative ter-
minal of the ohm-meter and the element
centre (not broken circuit).
2: Element centre point has disconnected
circuit.
3: The second ohm-meter reads double as
much resistance as the first one.

Repairing heater burned out ele-

ments
The required tools are:
1- Conductive Paint
2- Paint thinner
3- Tape
4- Silicon cleaner
5- Small paint brush
6- Masking tape

Clean the broken point area of the ele-

ment with the silicon cleaner and stick
the mask¬ing tape as shown in the figure.
Shake the paint pot sufficiently and apply
three paint layers using a paint brush with
15 minutes intervals between each paint-
ing.
Remove the tape and let the paint dry
com¬pletely before powering the elements.
After drying (24 hours), clean the extra and
ad¬ditional paint layers using a knife.

Attention
In 20 degree centigrade temperature, the
heater mask needs 24hour to be dry. If you
use a dryer for drying it, it will be dry after
30 minutes. (With 60 degrees centigrade)

Caution
A: do not use the rear window defogger un-
til it is completely dry.
B: do not use gasoline or similar solvents
for cleaning the damaged parts.
C: After repairing, wipe up the glass with a
soft and dry towel along the elements.

Horn 47

Horn (with 2 sockets)

The figure shows the horn installation and
its place on the vehicle.

1- It is easy to test horn by connecting its

positive terminal to the positive terminal
and it’s negative to the negative terminal of
the battery.
2- In case of no sound, replace the horn.

Adjustment
Disconnect the horn and adjust its volume
as desired using the adjusting screw. Turn-
ing the screw clock-wise lowers the volume
and counter-clock-wise increases the vol-
ume.

Note: After adjusting the volume, apply

slight paint on the screw to prevent its
looseness.
