were invited to compose new
national theme tunes and the
results are, although very
variable, quite enjoyable. Those
featured in this mammoth task
are DDAA from France, Renaido
And The Loat from the UK,
Yugoslavia's Laibach, Canada's s
Haters, Merzbow from Japan and
a host of other luminaries.

Somewhere jn the flood of 'Chrissie' gigs and performances by pin-ups and OAPs, you're going to
need some antidote dr other to all this Yuletide ick. Look no further than the Diorama performance
by British trio Last Few Days and the Yugoslavian group Laibach (Fri 23). LFD ('Could they be yours?'
being one clue left lying around by the group) play rarely, concentrating on a strange form of 'dis
carded' street propaganda reminiscent of the mysterious postal system in Pynchon's 'Crying of Lot

produce a striking style of music which might be pigeonholed as somewhere between the 'industrial'
