Observation Report:
The first day we had an observation March 6, 2023 at University of Perpetual Help

God Because I don’t have to adjust and experience struggles with the environment. Our
CT(Critic Teacher) Sir. Jemer Andres instructed me and Kathrina to collect each evaluation

instructed us to collect their scores and submit it to him in the evening. At first we are

to give us a paper works but, we accepted it for that the skills we have can be practiced.
March 14, was the second day of our observation and it was a very nice discussion,
we observed the section of HUMSS 12. Their topic was all about the Democracy, students
are quietly listening, they are taking down notes about their lesson. I observed also the way

university life and professional life. Everyone should be disciplined in the workplace. There
are so many do’s and don’ts at the workplace. This experience is helping me to learn those

So this afternoon, Sir Jemer's teaching went well, and as I observe day by day, all the
students are listening to him, and he discusses all lessons very comprehensively. He explains
every bullet point of the lesson clearly, and he adds jokes to it so that the students can be

has reaffirmed my passion for teaching and my commitment to nurturing the next generation
of learners. I am immensely grateful to the entire University of Perpetual Help System-

guidance.
September 21-22, Since I was a former student, some instructors knew me. I was

During those hours, I felt a mix of emotions. I didn't know if I was excited, nervous,

section of STEM 11 B. In the afternoon schedule of Sir Jemer, we went to Basic Education
where he would teach Grade 10 students. They also had a quiz, and after that, they had a
meeting to discuss their upcoming performance task in their subject. Around 4:00, Sir Jemer
taught STEM 12B students, and their topic was about their research. Sir Jemer guided them
step by step on what should be included in their Chapter 3. All of Sir Jemer's students are
very active and follow what he says. As a practice teacher under Sir Jemer, my observation
of his teaching is that he is very fluent in speaking English, and it's delightful because he
explains it well to his students.

SEMINAR
October 2, 2023
Theme: Empowering Achievement in Lesson Planning and Effective Classroom
Readiness for Perpetualite Future Educators
Topic 1: Effective Teaching and Learning Strategies
Resource Speaker: Dr. MARK-JOHN R. PRESTOZA
The seminar on "Unpacking of Standards and Competencies & Learning Progression and
Targets" was a transformative educational event that took place on October 2, 2023. It
brought together a diverse group of participants, including educators, all driven by a
common goal – to enhance the quality of education and better prepare students for the future.
The seminar began with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Dr. Mark-John, a
renowned education expert. Dr. MJ stressed the importance of clearly defining learning
standards and competencies, as they serve as the foundation upon which an effective
education system is built. We were reminded that well-defined standards and competencies
are essential for promoting consistency, ensuring a high quality of education, and fostering
meaningful learning experiences.
While having the seminar, Dr. Mj Explained to us the concept of standards and
competencies, Practical strategies for breaking down complex standards into manageable
learning objectives, Understanding the concept of learning progression, and designing
learning targets that are specific, measurable, and achievable.
After the sessions, we engaged in a series of applying the knowledge we gained. We worked
collaboratively on real-world examples and case studies, by discussing how to unpack
standards, set learning targets, and design learning progressions for various subjects and
grade levels.
The seminar was a remarkable event that fostered a deeper understanding of the essential
components of education. By unpacking standards, setting clear learning targets, and
understanding learning progression, educators left the seminar better equipped to provide
students with a meaningful and effective learning experience. This seminar served as a
catalyst for positive change especially in us the pre-service teachers, ensuring that every
student has the opportunity to excel and reach their full potential.

Topic 2: Assessment strategies in both flexible and traditional settings, as well as the
development of skills and discussions related to effective assessment practices.
Resource Speaker: Dr. JUNEL M. MADARANG
The seminar on "Assessment Strategies in Both Flexible and Traditional Settings, as well as
Development" was a pivotal event that enlightened participants about the critical role of
assessments in education. It provided a platform to explore diverse strategies for assessing
students in both traditional and flexible learning settings, and highlighted the necessity for
adaptability and innovation in the field of assessment. The event underscored the importance
of assessments as a means to measure learning and promote student success, regardless of
the educational environment.
Dr. Junel mentioned that when it comes to assessment, better assessment means better
teaching, better teaching means better learning, better learning means better students, and
better students mean better opportunities for a better life.
Dr. Junel asked us why we give grades to the students. We couldn't answer, so he told us that
we give grades to the students to SORT, to MOTIVATE, and to PROVIDE FEEDBACK.
He also shared with us what the author Carol Tomlinson said, 'Assessment is today's means
of understanding how to modify tomorrow's instruction.
My feedback on what Sir Junel shared with us about the assessing topic is that it's not just
about the grades of the children, but it also involves your relationship as a teacher with the
children. It's about understanding the child's situation, such as times when they can't attend
school and the reasons they may have difficulty focusing on their studies. Sir Junel told us
that all reasons are valid, whether they are shallow or deep. As teachers, we should have an
understanding of the children so that we can build a good relationship between students and
teachers. This way, teachers can further help the students to improve and become more
active in their studies.

Traditional and Technological Approaches
Resource Speaker: DEAN GLENN A. GALINGANA
The seminar commenced with an enlightening keynote address delivered by Dean Glenn
Galingana. He emphasized the critical role of instructional materials in the teaching and
learning process. Dean Galingana highlighted the need to bridge the gap between traditional
and technological approaches to create well-rounded educational experiences.
The seminar on "Enhancing Instructional Material Development for Student-Teachers:
Bridging Traditional and Technological Approaches" was a pivotal event that offered a
wealth of knowledge and practical insights. Under the guidance of Dean Glenn Galingana,
student-teachers left the seminar better equipped to develop instructional materials that
engage and empower learners. The event served as a catalyst for the integration of both
traditional and technological approaches, allowing student-teachers to bridge the gap
between the past and the future of education. It emphasized the importance of instructional
materials as a cornerstone for effective teaching and learning in the ever-evolving world of
education.
Dean Glenn taught us how to create a PowerPoint presentation in a simple manner, how to
insert video links in such a way that with just one click on the link, it immediately starts
playing the video, and how to design text with pictures to be placed in the PowerPoint.
This seminar has greatly benefited us because, as pre-service teachers who are also intern
students, we are beginning to teach. With what we have learned today, we will be able to
apply all the strategies that Dean Glenn taught us, such as how to use PowerPoint, how to
design, and many more.
