Question Bank 11 – Perspective Projections

1. A square lamina of 40 mm side lies on the ground plane. One of its corners is touching the PP and an edge is
inclined at 60O to PP. The station point is 40 mm in front of PP, 60 mm above GP and lies in a central plane
which is at a distance of 35 mm to the right of the corner touching the PP. Draw the perspective projection of
the lamina.

2. A pentagonal lamina of 40 mm side lies on the ground. The corner which is nearest to PP is 15 mm behind it
and an edge containing that corner is making 45O with PP. The station point is 40 mm in front of PP, 50 mm
above GP and lies in a central plane which is at a distance of 70 mm to the left of the corner nearest to the PP.
Draw the perspective projection of the lamina.

3. A circular lamina of 45 mm diameter lies on the ground plane and touches the picture plane. The center
plane passes through the center of the circle. Station point is 70 mm in front of picture plane and 60 mm above
the ground plane. Draw the perspective projection.

4. A square prism of base 25×25 mm and height 40 mm rests on GP on one of its ends with a rectangular face
receding away from the PP towards right making 60° with PP. The corner nearest to the PP is 40 mm to the left
of the station point and 20 mm behind the PP. The station point is 60 mm above the GP and 50 mm in front of
the PP. Draw the perspective view of the prism by visual ray method. Use the top view and front view.

5. A square prism, sides of base 40 mm and height 60 mm, rests with its base on the ground such that one of its
rectangular faces is parallel to and 10 mm behind the picture plane. The station point is 30 mm in front of PP,
80 mm above the ground plane and lies in a central plane 45 mm to the right of the centre of the prism. Draw
the perspective projection of the square prism.

6. A cylinder of diameter 30 mm and height 40 mm rests on its base on the ground with its axis 25 mm behind
the PP. The eye is 25 mm to the left of the axis, 100 mm in front of the PP and 60 mm above the ground. Draw
the perspective projection of the cylinder.

7. A square pyramid of base edge 20 mm and altitude 40 mm rests on its base on the ground with its base edge
parallel to the PP. The axis of the pyramid is 25 mm behind the PP and 25 mm to the right of the eye. The eye is
50 mm in front of PP and 50 mm above the ground. Draw the perspective view of the pyramid.

8. A regular hexagonal pyramid of base edge 20 mm and height 35 mm rests on its base on the ground plane
with one of its base edges touching the picture plane. The station point is 30 mm above the ground plane and 40
mm in front of PP. The central plane is 30 mm to the right of the axis. Draw the perspective projection of the
pyramid by visual ray method.

9. A model of steps has three steps of 10 mm tread and 10 mm rise. The length of the steps is 60 mm. The
model is placed with the vertical edge of the first step touching the PP and its longer edge inclined at 30O to PP.
The station point is 70 mm in front of PP, 55 mm above the ground plane and lies in a central plane which is at
30 mm to the right of the vertical edge touching the PP. Draw the perspective projection.

10. A cylinder 30mm diameter and 40mm long is lying on the ground with its axis perpendicular to the picture
plane. The nearest point of contact with the ground is 60mm on the left of the station point and 10mm from the
PP. The station point is 40mm above the ground and 60mm in front of the PP. Draw the perspective view of the
cylinder.
