1. A slope of a road in a park is 1: 20, point D and E are located at below, find the distance of DE. [5]

2. A slope of an inclined platform is 1:15, find the angle between the slope and the horizontal level. [5]
3. The horizontal distance and vertical distance of an inclined plane is 50 m and 5 m respectively. Find the
slope of the plane. [6]
4. A scale of a map with 1: 20000. If the road on the map is 14.4 cm and the actual distance is 3 km, find
the average slope of this road. [6]
5. The height of a tree is 6m tall and the corresponding shadow it 4 m long, find the angle of elevation of
top of the tree from the vertex of the shadow. (Correct to the nearest degree) [5]

6. In the figure, the distance between point A and point B is 200 m, If


point B is due west of point A. If point A is due south of boat C, the
reduced bearing of boat C from point B is S70oW, find the distance
between point A and B respectively. [6]

7. A man walks from point O to point A for 2 km and the bearing of A from
O is N 27E , then he turns right for 90 and walks for 1 km to arrive
point B. Find the reduced bearing of B from O. [6]
