Identifying Responsibilities Towards


CULTURAL HERITAGE MANAGEMENT

The first column in the table below contains a list of social institutions that are responsible for the
management of cultural heritage. For each of these institutions, discuss at least 2 specific
responsibilities they need to do in order to ensure the effective management of local cultural
heritage:

>It is the responsibility of the family to instill in the minds
and hearts of their kids the importance of cultural heritage
as bequeath of the past generation for them to help in
preserving such gift of the past.
FAMILY >Family is the microcosm in the society. So, the assimilation
of cultural values and heritage are first pass and learn
through family. So, family is the first cause of cultural
heritage continuity.

>School is the best avenue to continue what has been


learned at home. Teachers should inculcate the importance
in managing properly cultural heritages.
>Other responsibility of school is to make and promote
SCHOOL / ACADEMIC activity for students that will enshrine the continuity of
INSTITUTIONS cultural heritages.

>The responsibility of the church is to continue reminding the


faithful not to make any action that can cause for the
destruction of cultural heritage.
>One of the cultural heritages in our country are the old
CHURCH churches so the church constituents should always include in
their teachings the importance on how to preserve our
cultural heritage.

>The government should take measure, implement and enact


laws for preserving cultural heritages.
>Government should organize cultural awareness programs
and promote a curriculum that includes cultural knowledge,
GOVERNMENT protect and preserve the cultural sites, literature, language
and heritage.
