The national sport league I’ll be examining is the Premier league, and it is

league consisting of clubs around England. Some clubs find most of their
supporters close to the clubs’ locations, and some have majority of their fans
across seas, so this will look mainly at three clubs: Manchester United, Chelsea,
and Arsenal to see the trend between their club’s location and where their fans
live.

Manchester United Football Club, commonly referred to as

Man United, or simply United, is a professional football club
based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The
club competes in the Premier League, the top division in the
English football league system.
Manchester United has the biggest fanbase in the world, estimated at 333
million, according to TNS Sport research in 2007.
There are over 200 officially recognised Manchester United Supporters Club
branches worldwide, in at least 24 different countries. United also has a
customer database of 11 million, that is, fans who have had at least one financial
transaction with the club, and, according to their commercial director, no other
club on the planet is shown for at least two hours every week to a potential
audience of 80 percent of the world's televisions.
It is the most supported Premier league team in Africa, with some of the clubs’
legends stemming from parts of Africa, and the thing with Africans is that they
are very supportive of their people, so a large supporter fanbase will be
expected, and with majority of those numbers coming mainly from Tunisia,
Ethiopia, and Malaysia.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football
club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905,
they play their home games at Stamford Bridge. The club
competes in the Premier League, the top division of
English football. They won their first major honour, the
League championship, in 1955.
Chelsea's traditional fanbase comes from all over the Greater London area
including working-class parts such as Hammersmith and Battersea, wealthier
areas like Chelsea and Kensington, and from the home counties.
There are also numerous official supporters’ clubs in the United Kingdom and
all over the world. Between 2007 and 2012, Chelsea was ranked fourth
worldwide in annual replica kit sales, with an average of 910,000. As of 2018,
Chelsea had 72.2 million followers on social media, the fourth highest among
football clubs
The club has its top 5 supporting groups from parts of South
America, and mainly Asia with more than 2 million supporters from the likes of
Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia and many more. Some legends from the club are
also what caused such large support groups. An example being Juan Mata,
who’s from Indonesia which is very populous with poor family planning which
we see from many groups of people being related, so it makes it sense for such
large groups.
Arsenal Football Club, commonly referred to as Arsenal, is a professional
football club based in Islington, London, England. Arsenal plays in the Premier
League, the top flight of English football.
Arsenal's performance in home matches have resulted in them having the
second-highest average League attendance for an English club during the 2007–
08 season, (60,069, which was 99.5% of available capacity), and as of 2006, the
fourth-highest all-time average attendance. Arsenal have the highest proportion
(7.7%) of non-white attending supporters of any club in English football,
according to a 2002 report.
There are supporters' clubs worldwide. A 2005 report by Granada Ventures,
which at the time owned a 9.9% stake in the club, estimated Arsenal's global
fanbase at 27 million, the third-largest in the world.
The club's north London location, adjoining socially wealthy areas such
as Islington, Holloway, Highbury, and the adjacent London Borough of
Camden, and largely working-class areas such as Finsbury Park and Stoke
Newington, as well as neighbouring Homerton, Clapton and Dalston, has meant
that Arsenal's supporters have typically come from across the usual class
divides. Much of the Afro-Caribbean support comes from the
neighbouring London Borough of Hackney and a large portion of the South
Asian Arsenal supporters travel to the stadium from Wembley and Harrow, in
the north west of the capital.
The NW London areas of Edgware, Hendon and Barnet are home to
many of the club's Jewish supporters, who are also among the many Arsenal
fans from adjacent Hertfordshire towns such as Borehamwood.
In conclusion, all 3 teams spoken about are located in parts of England, and
have different locations in which their fans live; Arsenal having the least diverse
with majority of their fans living in Islington, Holloway, Highbury, and the
adjacent London Borough of Camden, whereas we see Manchester United fans
split across continents with majority from Africa, and lastly Chelsea with fans
mainly from Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia and this is mainly because most clubs
breed stars from these countries which have majority of the populations being
related to each other, which may have caused the large support .
