SCHOOLS IN BRITAIN AND THE USA

British children go to school from the age of 5 to 16. At the age of 16 some students
leave school, but some study two more years to finish school and to continue their
studying in the college. Children in the USA go to school from 5 to 18. School in Britain
and the USA runs from September to June or July.
In Britain school starts at nine o'clock in the morning and finishes at three o'clock in
the afternoon for younger students and four o'clock for older ones. Most pupils wear
school uniform. British schools have different clubs where children can play sports and
music. American students study from half past eight in the morning to half past three in
the noon. They don't have to wear school uniform. American children can go to summer
school during the holidays to take some extra lessons. There are also different clubs for
students as in Britain.
