across generations, significantly
influencing the film industry in the years
that followed.
Proudly localshows like Batibot, That's
Entertainment, and Ipaglaban Mo!, Noel
Cabangon and the rest of his band Buklod
1980’s made their debut in the local music scene
with socio-political-cultural hits like
"Tatsulok" and "Kanlungan." and
Magandang Gabi Bayan were also easily
recognized by Filipinos. Movies like
Himala, starring Nora Aunor, raise the
standard for regional theaters.
Asian dramas are now a regular feature
on all channels' daily schedules.
2000’s Because of its enormous fan base, local
TV networks decided to follow the trend
and began remaking some of the popular
shows, including My Name is Kim Sam
Soon, Loves in Paris, Temptation of Wife,
and My Girl. The biggest celebrities of
today also arose from reality and talent
competition shows in the 2000s, such as
Star Circle Quest, Starstruck, and Pinoy
Big Brother.
