SCHOOL CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

I. Objective: Promote a policy for any act of child abuse, exploitation, violence, bullying and
other forms of abuse.
II. Organization:
1. Chairperson
2. Vice -Chairperson
3. Representative of the PTA
4. SSG President
5. Representative from the SGC
III. General Child Protection Policies and Guidelines
New Guinsaugon National High School envision to the following:
1. Ensure that the NGNHS is safe and conducive to learning and the
students have the right to education free from danger and harm.
2. All students shall be protected from all forms of abuse and other forms
of violence.
3. Advocate a positive mode of disciplining students to foster self-discipline
in order to improve self-esteem.
4. Ensure that corporal punishment shall not be used in school for the
purpose of discipline.
5. Take steps to prevent bullying and other forms of violence and ensure
the appropriate interventions, counselling, and other services.
6. Ensure that students shall respects the rights of other students by
preventing bullying and other forms of violence.
7. Actively involve parents in all school activities and other events that
raise awareness on the rights of the other students.
8. Ensure that NGNHS shall orient all visitors and guests on the Child
Protection Policy.
IV. Protocol on Discipline Cases
NGNHS will follow the general procedure in handling disciplinary cases:
1. All students abuse incidents shall be reported to the School Principal.
2. The principal informs the parents of the students concerned and a
meeting shall be held for that purpose.
3. The student shall be referred to the CPC for counselling and other
interventions.
4. The school may impose measures in accordance with the policies stated
in the Parents/Teacher Handbook.
