BRIEF: -

Desertification, as a daunting global predicament, casts its shadow upon regions

worldwide and directly impacts the achievement of several UN SDGs, including
Goal 15: Life on Land. Recognizing the gravity of this issue, we firmly believe that
resolving it necessitates the collective commitment of nations across the globe.

AIM: -
The Aim of Pathfinders is to help eradicate desertification in the UAE by using
various methods such as the adequate balancing of agricultural productivity in the
UAE, Creation of ECO cities etc. If these solutions are proven to be efficient then
we could export these methods and implement them in poverty stricken and
conflict zones around the world where desertification is prevalent.

PROPOSED SOLUTION: -
• Creation of a government agency whose sole purpose is to combat
desertification throughout the entire UAE By incorporating various methods
such as Pluviculture, Remote sensing technology etc.

• Creation of a digital database to track desertification across the UAE.

• Balancing agricultural productivity and adequate urbanization in the UAE.

• Social media awareness

• Communicating our findings with the authorized government agencies
(e.g.; MOCCAE).

• Sharing insights about this topic in our school and within our communities

• Creating an eco-friendly garden within our residency to support our idea and
reduce desertification to a limited extent.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN: -
•Month 1-2: Establish social media accounts and begin awareness campaigns.

•Month 10-16: Advocate for the creation of a government agency only to focus
on eradicating desertification.
