Methodological Suggestions:

1. Read, study and memorize the definitions and grammar rules given in the different lessons of
the course.

2. Study the illustrations, the examples given and the figurative pronunciation indicated in some
cases.

3. Solve the exercises given as homework.

4. Compare the answers given by you and correct your mistakes if you have them.

5. If there are many wrong answers, study again the definitions and rules given at the beginning
of each lesson and do the exercises again.

6. Study as much as possible with other person (s) to compare, discuss and practice the exercises
and tasks given.

7. Properly distribute study time, so that there is continuity and regularity. It is not convenient to
study several hours at a time and let a long time pass before starting another lesson.

DRIVING SAFETY TIPS

Here there are some driving rules to abide by!

1. Wear always your seat belt.

2. Slow Down and Give yourself enough time.


Speeding is the number 1 cause of accidents
among teen drivers.

3. Adjust your driving speed for weather


conditions. If it's raining or foggy, you may
need to drive below the speed limit to be safe.

4. Thumbs are for driving, not for texting. Put the


cell phone away while driving.

5. Don't drive if you are sleepy. You put the car,


yourself and any passengers at risk.

6. Never drive under the influence of alcohol or


drugs.

7. Obey the traffic laws and respect the signs,


signals and traffic markings.

Self-introduction is simply the act of introducing yourself to someone else.
You can include your name, place you come from, place where you live and

LESSON 1

Me and my family

Simple Present Tense


Verb to be
(am, is and are)

The simple present form of the verb to be are the words am, is and are.
• We have to use am with the personal pronoun I.
• We have to use is with singular nouns like ‘my dad’ and ‘the teacher’: he, she, it.
• We have to use are with plural nouns like ‘my parents’ and ‘Jenny and Mary’: we, you, they.

An adjective is a word that modifies or describes a noun or pronoun. Adjectives can be used to describe
the qualities of someone or something independently or in comparison to something else.

My name´s Lucy Beale and I live in Bristol. My dad has a coffee shop and we live in the flat above it.
The coffee is my home, my workplace and a great place to hang out with my friends.
During the week I usually wake up at 6:30 and help my mum at the coffee. I clean the tables and she
cleans the floor.
Then, I go to school.
I get home at about 4 o’clock in the afternoon. There aren´t usually many people in the coffee at that
time, so I do my homework there, I have dinner. I rarely have burgers because I´m sick of them. In the
evening my friends sometimes come to the coffee, we play video games, surf the Net or just sit around
and talk.
I don't work at the coffee every evening. I work three times a week. Twice a week I work until 8pm
and once a week, on Saturdays, until 10pm.
I enjoy working at my dad´s coffee, but every evening I always take a long shower because I smell like
fried food! I hate it!

We make the Present Continuous tense by adding -ing to the base verb. Normally it's simple: we just
add -ing. But sometimes we have to change the word a little. Perhaps we double the last letter, or we
drop a letter. Here are the rules to help you know how to spell the Present Continuous tense.

• Be of legal age on the date of registration.

• Original and 2 color copies of the citizenship card, voting ballot and blood type.

• Color copy of having passed the first year of high school (4th year) or high school

(Degree or degree certificate)

•Original blood type card issued by the Ecuadorian Red Cross or by a laboratory authorized by the Ministry of
Public Health.

• Medical Certificate (Hospital, Clinic or Health Center)

•4 passport-size photos.

• Pass psychological and psychosensometric exams (at School)

Validation

• Validation process $ 50

• Type C license certificate issued by the ANT

• Original of the academic record issued by the School where he obtained the type C license

• Original of the programmatic contents (modules) of the School where he obtained the Type C license.
