DISTRICT PRESS CONFERENCE

(ELEMENTARY LEVEL)
To: All School Heads
Teachers

1. In consonance with Republic Act 7079 otherwise known as Campus Journalism Act of 1991, a
District Press Conference will be held at Llanera Central School on January 19 for Elementary
and January 20, 2024 for Junior High School.
2. The activity basically aims to enhance and expose the learners in the field of Journalism.
3. The following categories shall be undertaken both in English and Filipino.
a. News Writing
b. Editorial Writing
c. Editorial Cartooning
d. Copy Reading and Headline Writing
e. Feature Writing
f. Sports Writing
g. Photo Journalism
h. Science Writing
i. Radio Broadcasting for Elementary, TV Broadcasting for Secondary
j. Desktop Publishing
k. Column Writing
4. Participants in this contest will be selected from among the Grades IV-VI pupils and Junior
High School students.
5. Participants are advised to bring their packed lunch and snack as well as the materials such as
ballpen, paper, Oslo paper for cartooning, pentel pen, pencil Digicam(21 megapixel) and
laptops for Photojournalism/Desktop Publishing.
6. A registration fee of 200 pesos from the Elementary will be collected from each school intended
for the related incidental expenses such as snacks and lunch of facilitators and school heads,
certificates, and plaque of recognition. (Secondary Schools to be announced)
7. The first three (3) winners in each category will compete in the Division Press Conference to be
held this coming February (to be announced).
8. Attached herein is the program of Activities/Board of Judges.
9. Immediate and wide dissemination anent the content of this memorandum is earnestly desired.
