"A reader lives a thousand lives.

Where each life has new places to explore,

new people to meet, secrets to uncover, and lessons to ponder."

When a person reads a book, they engross themselves to different worlds and
fantasies. Whether it is book that lets them go through Platform 9 1/3 or a book that
transports them to a camp filled with the children of the gods, we can say reading brings
forth imagination. And that is my first reason on why I engraved "A reader lives a thousand
lives."

It is a quote partially written by George R.R. Martin in 'A Song of Fire & Ice: A Dance
with Dragons'. Wherein the original quote fully said, "A reader lives a thousand lives before he
dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one."

With its imagery, dialogue, and scenarios, reading gives you a whole other life.
Another life that crowns you king or queen of Narnia, urges you to follow the talking rabbit,
or takes you to the realm where gods and goddesses reside. In these worlds you can be
whatever you desire, the only key to unlock the door is your imagination. Hence the
bookmark looks like a white door with different personalities seen inside of it. The door is
locked, and in the ribbon there is a key—that key is imagination.

Moreover, "A reader lives a thousand lives" is only part of the quotation. Behind the
bookmark, I added:

"Where each life has...

New places to explore
New people to meet
Secrets to uncover
And lessons to ponder."

The second reason I chose to add this to the quotation is that reading
presents knowledge. From all those lives we lived in the pages of the book, we get
sucked back to reality for us to apply what we've learned from them to real life.
 Harry Potter taught me that a mother's love is the strongest magic of all
 Percy Jackson taught me the true worth of loyalty
 Alice in Wonderland taught me that being mad isn't all that bad
 The Chronicles of Narnia taught me the value of courage, forgiveness,
kindness, and honesty
 Thor taught me how to prove myself worthy

And I believe this is what makes reading spectacular. It makes us lifelong readers
and lifelong learners.

Art in bookmark are not mine they are from the following artists that deserve
the love and support they need in making such amazing crafts.
