Rules for Moot Court Submission 2023-2024

Language
The language of the Submission shall be English.
1. Written Submissions/Memorials
The following requirements must be strictly followed with respect to submission of
memorials.

i. Memorials should be printed on A4 size paper on one side and must contain:
 Cover page
 Table of contents
 Index of authorities
 Index of abbreviations
 Statement of jurisdiction
 Statement of facts
 Statement of issues
 Summary of arguments
 Arguments advanced
 Prayer
Note - Annexures are not allowed. Pages should be numbered.

Format requirements:

 Font: Times New Roman

 Font size: 12 and for footnotes 10
 Heading font size: 14
 Body of text: Justified
 Line spacing: 1.5, Margin: 1 inch
 Footnote spacing: 1 inch
Cover page on the memorials shall be as follows:

 The Cover Page of each Written Submission must contain the following information:
 The participant’s name
 The name of the case.
 The party for which the written submission has been prepared. (petitioner/
respondent)
 Name of the forum resolving the dispute.

2. Dress Code
Participants must adhere to the following Dress Code strictly during the Submission-
Female(s): While salwar and kurta or white shirt with black tie and black coat and black
shoes;
Male(s): White shirt, black trousers and black tie along with black coat and black shoes
The Memorial will be graded on following aspects:
Application of Facts – Reasoning – Use of Authorities and Precedents – Understanding of
Law and Procedure – Proper Format

The oral submission will be graded on following aspects:

Responses to questions and Articulation – Use of Authorities and Precedents – Reasoning in
the application of Principles – Application of Facts – Overall Advocacy skills and Court
