Requirements for Erosion & Sedimentation Control

The following control measures should be undertaken to for erosion


and sedimentation control at site

• Excavation works should not be carried out in the event of a storm.

• Backfilling activities should- be undertaken in horizontal layers and soil


should be previously dampened and immediately compacted in situ to
minimize erosion.

• Dust suppression, if required, should be applied in a manner that will not


lead to water pooling or surface water flow.

• This erosion and sediment control plan shall be incorporated into the
training material to provide the site staff with a better understanding of
the erosion and sediment control measures.

• Minimize the track out of sediment onto offsite roads, other paved areas,
and sidewalks from vehicles exiting the construction site, by considering
restricting vehicle use to properly designated exit points allocated at the
site

• A responsible HSE Inspector (s) should be on site during working times to


carry out daily site inspections.

• The Inspector should report to the lead HSE Advisor on any critical issues
regarding erosion & sedimentation

• All staff should report any non-conformance to the WBG HSE Advisor /
Environmental Engineer in relation to non-adherence to the measures
above.

• Complaints should be reported and responded to in accordance with


CEMP requirements.
