B-PLAN

Introduction:
B Plan is one of the most prominent events of Kshitij, IIT Kharagpur. Participants (teams)
come up with new startup ideas and submit the abstract of their business plan in the
format described and submit the same to the mail id given in the instructions. Some
teams are shortlisted based on the abstract they have submitted and will be provided
mentorship from renowned ventures for a few days. Post mentorship, the teams will get
to present their idea in front of a panel of judges and submit the final report of their
business plan. The top teams will be awarded prize money and provided incubation.

Problem statement:
The business world has been revolutionized by young entrepreneurs with a different take
on everything. If you think you've got the caliber and the ambition to rise to those meteoric
heights then this is the right forum to present your ideas. One of the flagship events, The
IIT Kharagpur Business Plan competition is a platform for creative geniuses and has been
planned to see that ideas attain their deserved mentor-ship, patronization from established
industry names. With participation from major Management and Engineering Colleges, it is
ideal for prolific branding among the thinkers of tomorrow. With a head start given to
many ideas in the past, the B Plan is among the flagship events of Kshitij.

Event rules:
There will be three rounds in the competition

• Qualifier Round 1

• Qualifier Round 2

• Final Round

A. Qualifier Round 1
The aim of qualifier round 1 is to select the top chosen teams for Qualifier Round 2.
Submission of a detailed functional description of the solution including the proposed
approach to developing it in the form of an abstract. The deadline for Abstract Submission
is 2nd January 2024.
The qualifier round’s objective is to select the teams based on capability
• Extent of research on the issue for which the solution is proposed
• Feasibility of the solution in the different practical scenarios
• Ease of implementation and its usage

B. Qualifier Round 2
30 teams will be selected for qualifier round 2 and will be provided mentorship by Neoleap
Accelerator, Rajasthan Venture Capital Funds, Startup Reseau, Strat2Startup(S2S),
Trifecta Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Satyam Software Solutions .The aim of the
qualifier round 2 is to select the top chosen teams for the Final Round. The round will
conclude with the presentation of the Abstract by every team to a panel of judges (either
from the company or IIT Kharagpur professors).
The time allotted for each presentation will be 12 minutes (10 min for presentations + 2
minutes for judges questions)

The qualifier round’s objective is to select the teams based on capability

• Feasibility of the solution in the different practical scenarios

• Design and Optimization
• Presentation and Explanation of the ideas to the Judges
• Ease of implementation and its usage

C. Final Round
Final Round will conclude with the presentation of the Report of their Abstract.
by every team to a panel of judges (either from the company or IIT Kharagpur Professors).
This round will be calibrated on the following grounds:
1. Ideology and Methods
2. Results and Interpretation
3. Conclusion and Insight

General Rules:

1. Every team has to register online on the official Kshitij website for the competition.
2. A-Team ID will be allocated to the team on registration which shall be used for future
references.
3. The idea presented by the teams should be original (not protected by means of
patent/copyright/technical publication by anyone else).
4. A team can register at any point of time before and can submit a final abstract(as
mentioned in the structure).
5. The decision of the organizers or judges shall be treated as final and binding on all.
6. No responsibility will be held by Kshitij, IIT Kharagpur for any late, lost or misdirected
entries.
7. Note that at any point of time the latest information will be that which is on the website.
However, registered participants will be informed through mail about any changes.
8. No Participant is allowed to register in more than one team.

Guidelines:

Each team has to make a pdf file containing a maximum of 8 pages. The pdf file should
contain the following details of all participants on the first page:

Team:
1) Participating team size should be limited to a maximum of 4 individuals.
2) Students from different institutes can be a part of the same team.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of any discipline from emerging
Universities/Colleges are eligible to participate in the competition.

Prizes:
The Winner will have to mail the following information (immediately after the
announcement of results in the Official website of Kshitij) to Kshitij team at bplan@ktj.in
