His Glorious Indwelling….

One of the greatest facts of the New Testament is the Indwelling of God through his Holy Spirit. It is a
blessed truth! 2 Corinthians 6:16, ‘And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are
the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people’. God indwells us today. Look at a key revelation of Christianity.
Colossians 1:27, ‘To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among
the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:’ Christ IN you! His Glorious indwelling made
possible by his redemptive sacrifice. John 16:7, ‘Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you
that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him
unto you.’ His going away meant much more than departing the scene, it meant his going to die, his
going to Hades, his resurrection and his ascension to the Father’s right hand. These made it possible for
the Holy Spirit to come to indwell us. Acts 2:33, ‘Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and
having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see
and hear.’ As a result, the presence of God now lives in us. We NEVER seek the presence of God as
believers. Instead, we rejoice in it and participate in it! God wants us conscious every day of his Glorious
indwelling! It is not some theological fact, it’s a literal reality! He is active within us, we are his
outstretched arm. We lives in us and he is working from us! This is Christianity, a life of the Glorious
indwelling!

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for your grace and love towards me in Christ. Thank you for the indwelling of
your presence! I walk in boldness in this life because the Greater one lives in me!

And The Word became Flesh…

The blessedness of the Incarnation is an eternal wonder! Yet, the import of same is missing in the
thoughts of many especially concerning God. In today’s devotional, I’d endeavor to share the weighty
implication of this fact. Let’s see the scriptures. John 1;14, ‘And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth.’ This is a key scripture to understanding God’s character. ‘Word’ is from the Greek, ‘Logos’. Logos
means, ‘thought, reason, cause, intent, plans, purpose’. When reading, some people have this funny
notion that Jesus was ‘a walking bible’. Well, that’s not what it means. It means that God’s ‘thought,
plans, purposes’ took upon flesh. This is why Jesus is called the ‘IMAGE’ of the Invisible God- Colossians
1:15. This is why we can boldly declare that God is no longer a mystery. His mystery has been
acknowledged in the person of Jesus. The will of God is not some amorphous, spooky concept. It is
discernable and perceivable in the face of Christ. Another thought this concept conveys is the fact that
LOGOS is the root word where LOGIC is derived from. This means God is predictable. We know what he
can do and not do. He is almighty to save, willing to heal, eager to deliver. The name, ‘Jesus’ which
means ‘God saves’ gives us the propensities of deity which is salvation. What about the revelation of
God in the Old testament where we have him portrayed as a sovereign terror? Very simple! For this
purpose Christ came to resolve this conundrum. John 1:18, ‘No man hath seen God at any time; the only
begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him’. The word, ‘seen’ is from a
Greek idiom which means ‘knowledge of experience’. Here we have a contrast from verse 17, between
Moses and Jesus, verse 18 is a continuation of that contrast. This means nobody had enough revelation
of God in the Old testament to conclusively define the divine character! Jesus 'declares' the Father's
character! The word 'declare' means to, 'rightly interpret'. Jesus, as the Word made flesh has shown us
what God really looks like.

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for manifesting your fullness to me in Christ. I walk in the precise knowledge of
your grace, mercy and kindness.

Incorruptible

1 Peter 1:23, 'Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which
liveth and abideth for ever'. To be born of God, even his Word is a very big deal. Salvation is God's
biggest venture and he invested himself as capital to make it happen. Hence, it is fail proof, cocksure
and without capacity to be thwarted. The opening verse in today's devotional gives us a marvellous
insight into its nature; Incorruptible. The word, 'seed' is from the Greek, 'sperma'. It is where life
originates. The Apostle Peter lets us know the character of our life's origin. It is incorruptible. It isn't
subject to perishing. Here is Peter's own revelation of 'eternal life'. Let's see one more scripture that
furthers our comprehension of this fact. 1 Peter 1:5, 'Who are kept by the power of God through faith
unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.' This is why salvation is forever. It's imperishable! 2
Peter 1:4, 'Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.' Through
our faith in the Gospel, we escaped the corruption that is in the world through sinful desires. Isn't God
wonderful? This is what we declare in the Gospel. 2 Timothy 1:10, 'But is now made manifest by the
appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality
to light through the gospel:'. The Gospel makes plain eternal life. Every one who believes the Gospel, has
eternal life! If you believe in Jesus, that is exactly what you have!

Prayer

Thank you, dearest Father, for granting me eternal life through your son, Jesus.

A Prophesying people prophesied about..

The believer is a creature prophesied about immensely in the Scriptures of the prophets. He is the grand
result of the God's grand redemption plan. Several scriptures show this. For example, Psalms 102:18,
'This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the
LORD.' The word, 'created' is from the same word used in Genesis 1:1. It means to bring something new
into existence. God speaks about the New Creation here. In today's devotional, we'd see one of the
characteristics of this 'New Creation' prophesied about. Joel 2:28, 'And it shall come to pass afterward,
that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old
men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions'. Here, he tells us about a New breed imbued
with the ability to speak supernaturally from God. The Holy Spirit made this reality possible. The
indwelling of the Spirit gives the supernatural ability to a man. We are not only given the supernatural
ability to prophesy, we are charged with the responsibility of prophesying. 1 Peter 4:11, 'If any man
speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which
God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion
for ever and ever. Amen.' The word, 'oracles' comes from a Greek word that means 'brief inspired
utterances'. That is the description of prophecy. We are to speak inspired by the Spirit. In prophecy, we
give direction, we reveal information and proffer solutions. Needless to say, the Gift of prophecy is
divine direction on the lips of the believer. This is our nature and we are to live out of it!

Confession

Prophecy is natural to me. I walk in this supernatural endowment. As I speak in tongues, I speak the
mind of God. I give myself to interpret tongues also. Glory to God!

A Seeing Specie…

The New Creation is the masterpiece of God, the height of the divine craftsmanship. He is a bundle of
supernatural competencies. In today’s devotional, we’d like to see one of such abilities. Joel 2:28, ‘And it
shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:’. This is a
prophecy concerning the man in Christ. He is one that dreams, he is one that sees. These refer to the
ability to see supernaturally. We are endowed In Christ by the Spirit to see beyond the optical range of
the human eye. In visions, we have insight into events, past, present and future and we can plan
ourselves accordingly as we have been shown. We do not choose what to see, but, we can choose to
see. Our spiritual eyes have been enable to see! On the day of Pentecost, there was a conglomeration of
spiritual gifts in operation. One of which was the revelation gifts in vision, this is why cloven tongues as
of fire were seen on the heads of the 120. There is more happening around us than what our 5 senses
can capture. Situations can be caused by demonic operations. And you need more than the Five senses
to deal with such. The Great man of God, Smith Wigglesworth was called to a home of a young lad
diagnosed by the doctors to have paralysis of the mind. On seeing the boy, Brother Wigglesworth, said,
'The problem is in his stomach'. The mother began to query this because of the previous report of the
doctors. Anyways, the man of God insisted that the problem was in the stomach and proceeded to lay
his hands there. Immediately, the boy threw up a 10-12 inch worm and was restored to normalcy. How
did he know? He knew by the Spirit! He saw by the Spirit. You too can, as you recognize it's part of your
nature and exercising yourself in the Holy Ghost, praying in other tongues!

Confession

I can see, I can hear, by the Spirit of God. It is natural to me!

A Bundle of Supernatural competencies...

The believer in Jesus Christ is a bundle of supernatural competencies! Why? He is a New Creation of
God! When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same
anymore. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, 'A new life has begun! All these new things are from God who brought
us back to himself through what Christ Jesus did. And God has given us the privilege of urging everyone
to come into his favor and be reconciled to him.' (TLB). The New Creation is God's making..He is OF God.
Look what Jesus said the believer would be able to do! Mark 16:17-18, 'And these signs shall follow
them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall
take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the
sick, and they shall recover.' Wow! Look at God's wonder man! Look at what he can do..Behold some of
his competencies; he casts out devils, he speaks with New tongues, he can take up serpents without
getting hurt, if he drinks poison, he would remain unscathed and if he lays his hands on the sick, they
shall recover! All these are supernatural in nature! Glory to God! 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, 'Not that we are
competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has
made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter
kills, but the Spirit gives life.' (NIV). Our competency is of God! Glory! And all these come into
functionality as we acknowledge every good thing which is in us by Christ Jesus- Philemon 1:6.

Prayer

Dear Father, I bless you for the revelation of who I am in you, a bundle of supernatural competencies.
My abilities are of God! As I study your word, I put to work these abilities to your glory! In Jesus name,
Amen!

From Glory to Glory

As we study the scriptures in the right light, our perception of God's workings are made accurate. I'd like
us to study a certain verse of scripture in its proper context. 2 Corinthians 3:18 , 'But we all, with open
face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
[even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.' What exactly is being communicated here? To some, it means a
promotion at work, moving to a nicer apartment or maybe a better car. Is this it? Let's study carefully. In
2 Corinthians 3, the author discusses the New testament in comparison to the Old. He calls the New, the
ministration of righteousness while the old, the ministration of condemnation. He then begins to discuss
the Glories of both covenants. This is the background in which 2 Corinthians 3:18 comes in. So, from
what Glory to what Glory? 2 Corinthians 3:14-18, 'But their minds were blinded: for until this day
remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in
Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it
shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of
the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are
changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.' The Vail refers to
ignorance. Yet, when a heart shall turn to the Lord, the Vail is taken away, he can understand the Old
testament and its purposes clearly! He sees Christ as the explanation of scriptures! No more confusion!
Plainness of speech! This is the liberty the Spirit brings. Then, as he beholds the Lord clearly, he is
transformed from The Glory of the Old into the Glory of the New! From sin, to righteousness, from
death to eternal life. From spiritual bankruptcy to the stupendous inheritance in Christ. From sins' pit to
the Father's right hand. Indeed, he has taken us from Glory to Glory! Halleluyah!

Prayer

Blessed Lord, I magnify your majesty and your lovingkindness towards me. Thank you for the Glory of
the ministration of life and righteousness. I walk in this greater glory today and always!

God's righteousness without the Law is manifested!

The first thing that comes to many minds immediately the word ‘righteousness’ is mentioned, is ‘right
doings’. If were to meet an average believer and should ask him/her if they were righteous,
immediately, they’d say with fright, ‘No!’ Why? They have been badgered repeatedly with a sense of
righteousness. Romans 10:3-4, 'For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For
Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.' Here, Paul shows us man's
righteousness as different from God's righteousness accomplished in Christ. Here, he says, 'Christ is the
end of the law..for righteousness to the one that believes'. The believer in Christ is declared righteous!
Romans 3:20-22, 'Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by
the law [is] the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being
witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ
unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference'. Righteousness has been far removed
from the arena of works! Righteousness DOES NOT come by keeping the law! It comes by faith in Christ!
It is a gift! Romans 5:17, 'For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which
receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)' Glory
to God! If you've believed in Jesus, you have been made righteous and you are at peace with God!

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for your free gift of righteousness to me. Were it by works, I know I wouldn't
meet up. Thank you, Daddy, because it's in Christ unto me freely.

The Mystery now revealed..

God's eternal plan for humanity was kept secret since the world began. The Old testament contained
glimpses of it. It was hidden from the prophets of old. So important is this mystery insomuch that the
revelation of God was embedded therein. Romans 16:25-26, 'Now to him that is of power to stablish you
according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the
prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the
obedience of faith:'. It was kept secret since the world began! 1 Corinthians 2:7, 'But we speak the
wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto
our glory:'. It was ordained unto our glory! Glory to God! What is this mystery? Colossians 1:26-27,
'[Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to
his saints: To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the
Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:' This mystery is revealed; Christ IN us, the hope of
Glory! In this mystery is the complete unveiling of God also. Colossians 2:2, ‘That their hearts might be
comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;’ The word, ‘and’ from the
Greek means, ‘even’. In other words, the mystery of God is acknowledged (made fully known) in Christ.
God is revealed in Christ’s redemptive work. He is fully known in Christ! The New creation is the
consummation of this mystery. And this mystery is explained in the Epistles. A Christian must study the
epistles intensively to understand God’s eternal plan as prophesied in the Old testament. God is no
longer a mystery. He is fully unveiled in Christ.

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for the unveiling of the mystery of your eternal plan. What a joy to see my
involvement in it! I am grateful!

The God Kind of man..

Jesus Christ is called is called the Last Adam for a unique purpose. Romans 8:29, ‘For whom he did
foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the
firstborn among many brethren.’ This is God’s dream! For humanity to be conformed to the image of
his son, for him to be the first born! The phrase, ‘first born’ from a Greek word which means,
‘prototype’. Jesus was to be the prototype of a new race. This principle of operation is foreshadowed by
Adam. Adam foreshadowed Christ. Romans 5:14, ‘Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses,
even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of
him that was to come.’ Adam was figurative of Christ! In other words, when God said, ‘Let us make man
in our image’-(Genesis 1:26), his sights were actually on Christ. Jesus was to produce a new race after his
kind. This is the God kind of man! I realized something beautiful; Jesus is at once the revelation of God
and God’s idea of man. Jesus is our prototype. Where he is, is where we are! Who he is who we are!
What he has, is what we have! This is why Christianity is more than a religion. It is a vital union with God
in Christ. We are in fellowship with Christ! We are joint heirs with him! As he is so are we in this world!
God’s eternal dream has been consummated; the New Creation! Glory!

Prayers

Thank you, dear father, for your eternal dream in Christ consummated in me! I boldly declare that I am a
New Creation after the image of him that created me.

A People to come….

The New Creation is a most spectacular wonderment. You know, a lot of folks think Paul wrote as he
liked, somewhat contradicting the Old Testament. Well, if you think that way, your thoughts are bound
to change as you study deeply the scriptures and find out that all Paul wrote were the lucid explanations
of the fulfillment of God’s plans and purposes as contained in the Old Testament. The New Creation is
not a Pauline innovation. He is the fulfillment of a promise God made. Psalm 102:18, ‘This shall be
written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.’ This
remarkable! ‘..The generation to COME..a people which shall be CREATED..’ The word, ‘created’ is from
the same word used in Genesis 1:1 where it says, ‘In the beginning, God CREATED the heavens and the
earth.’ The word from the Hebrew from which it originates means, ‘to bring something novel into
existence’. Here, God says there will be a New people..A kind that has never existed before! This is the
New creation in prophecy! Let’s see another scripture. Isaiah 43:19-21, ‘ Behold, I will do a new thing;
now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the
desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the
wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed
for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.’ Look at this; Out of the New thing the lord would do, there
would be a people FORMED for his praise! Let’s see the fulfillment of this. 1 Peter 2:9, ‘But ye are a
chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the
praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:’. We are that people
showing forth his praise! His praise, here, means his character! We show forth his marvelous character!

Confession

I am a New creation formed to show forth his praise! I live my life this way, today and always!

He has made us TRUE WORSHIPPERS..

John 4:23, ‘But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in
spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.’ This particular subject matter needs
careful study to properly understand what is being said. Who is a ‘True worshipper’? The man in Christ is
a true worshipper. Philippians 3:3, ‘For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and
rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.’ He distinguishes between the Spirit and the
flesh. TRUE WORSHIP is primarily about who we are than what we do. When he says, ‘The Father
SEEKETH such..’ The word, ‘seeketh’ in the Greek means much more than searching, it means, ‘an
endeavoring to do’. In other words, God would ‘endeavour to make’, such to worship him! This is why
Paul says, ‘We are the circumcision which worship God in the Spirit..’. Worship comes with sacrifice. In
other words, worship is sacrifice dependent! As you study through the Old testament, nobody
worshipped without a sacrifice. Yet, these were shadows of the true. Hebrews 13:15, ‘By him therefore
let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his
name.’ It is BY him we can offer the true sacrifices! We are true worshippers, blood bought, sanctified!
We are true worshippers and we can offer up sacrifices acceptable to God!

Prayer

Thank you Father, for making me a TRUE WORSHIPPER. As I lift my hands today, I am confident that my
worship is acceptable in Jesus name!

This is the Day the Lord has made!

Psalm 118:21-24, ‘ I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone
which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is
marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.’
When many hear, ‘This is the day the Lord has made’, they think of how great Monday or Tuesday etc,
will be. But it is weightier than that. The word, ‘day’ refers to a dispensation. And concerning this
particular dispensation, there are certain facts around it that help us define it. First, it concerns
salvation. Secondly, in this day the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
This is referring to the day of salvation, the day of Christ! It is a time to rejoice in! This is the day the Lord
has made! He is orchestrated it by himself and it elicits our rejoicing as we find out exactly what was
accomplished for us in this day! What a life he has granted us. We surely will rejoice as we discover that
we have been made righteous in him! What joy would cause us to leap as we peruse the joys of our
eternal salvation in him! Indeed, it is the dispensation of laughter! Our captivity to sin and satan have
been turned. What a day! What a life! Glory to God!

Prayer

Dear Father, this is the day you have made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! I am grateful for the eternal
life granted me! I celebrate you, Father!

If we sin willfully…(1)

Today, I’d like to begin a series on correcting the misconceptions of Hebrews 10:26-39. Let’s see the
verses in question: , ‘For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation,
which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three
witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden
under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified,
an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said,
Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his
people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But call to remembrance the former
days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; Partly, whilst ye were
made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of
them that were so used. For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your
goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. Cast not away
therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that,
after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall
come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul
shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that
believe to the saving of the soul.’ What a long read! But it is worth it. In this series, we’d answer
questions like; what does is the knowledge of the truth? What does it mean to ‘sin willfully’? What does
it mean to ‘draw back’? At what point does one ‘draw back’? Who is the man that ‘draws back’? It is
surely going to be an exciting and illuminating discourse! Let’s set the tone for this series by looking at
some previous verses and establishing certain premises. Hebrews 10:19-25, ‘Having therefore, brethren,
boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of
God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith
without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto
love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.’ Hebrews 10:1-18
establishes the claims and promises of God now fulfilled in the New Testament. Now, he invites the
unbelieving Jew to ‘enter’ the holiest of all by what Jesus has accomplished. He tells them to draw near.
He says to ‘hold fast’ to the profession of faith (‘our’ isn’t included in the originals). He instructs on the
necessity of Christian gatherings for the purpose of ‘exhortation’ (in this context it means to persuade)
‘as we see the day approaching’. What day does he refer to? The KJV is a little misleading in its
rendering. From the context of the book of Hebrews (especially chapters 3&4), the DAY refers to the
DAY (a dispensation) of redemption. The DAY of Christ, His Accomplished SABBATH. Why is the KJV
rendering misleading? The word, ‘approaching’ is from a Word which could as well be translated as, ‘to
have come’. It deals with the idea of ‘proximity’. That DAY has COME! In Hebrews 3 and 4, the listener is
told NOT TO HARDEN his heart. Hebrews 4:2 describes succinctly what is being discussed, ‘For unto us
was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being
mixed with faith in them that heard it.’ Studying further, we’d see that he describes the DAY in this light.
What then is the author requesting for in Hebrews 10:25? He is asking for regular presentations of the
Gospel to be made in regular assemblings for the unpersuaded among them to become persuaded and
receive the Gospel believing. This is the tone of the Hebrews 10:26-39. We’ll proceed to address the
questions raised subsequently as we continue later on.

Prayer

Thank you for the Gospel I have believed. I live secure in the assurance of my salvation.

Hebrews 3-4
If we sin willfully…..(2)

In the last post, we started out to explain the misconceptions surrounding Hebrews 10:26-39. We
started out to give the tone of the author in stating what he said. We considered the concept of the
‘DAY’. We discovered it referred to the DAY of Christ. We cleared the air on what it meant for the DAY
TO APPROACH. We saw that the DAY HAS COME. Today, we begin to answer the questions arising from
this text. The first question is, ‘what is the knowledge of the truth’? The Book of Hebrews is a defense of
the Gospel to Jewish thinking emphasizing the law as a shadow and Christ as the substance. Hebrews
10:1, ‘For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can
never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto
perfect’. The Law is shadow, Jesus is reality. The word, ‘truth’ comes from the word, ‘aletheia’. It means,
‘reality’. The knowledge of the truth is the knowledge of reality. The reality is Christ himself. This same
thought is mirrored in 1 Timothy 2:4-6, ‘Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the
knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ
Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.’ The Knowledge of the truth is to
know the ransom God paid for all men in the sacrifice of Christ. The Knowledge of the truth is the Gospel
of Jesus Christ. To receive the knowledge of the truth in this context is to have heard the Gospel. The
Knowledge of truth is what defines what it means to ‘sin willfully’. We’d continue later on.

If we sin willfully….(3)

In the last post, we saw what the ‘Knowledge of the truth’ was. We understood the Gospel to be the
Knowledge of the truth. We ended it by stating that the Knowledge of the truth defines what it means to
‘sin willfully’. Let’s see one of the pivotal verses in this study. Hebrews 10:26, ‘ For if we sin wilfully after
that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins’. What
does this mean? I’d like to explain what IT DOES NOT mean. It does not mean to do wrong consciously.
This particular sin is explained in context. We must not assign our understandings to it, rather, we must
receive the understanding the scriptures give. Let’s see what John states about sin and the believer so as
to eliminate whatever misconceptions we might have. 1 john 2:1-2, ‘My little children, these things write
I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the
whole world.’ Sin here, even after salvation, is paid for by the propitiation of Christ. But, Hebrews 10:26
says, ‘…if we sin willfully……..there is no more sacrifice for sin…’ Is this a contradiction? No. All we need
is to pay attention to salient details which will unlock the understanding of this verse, Firstly, ‘WILLFULL
SINNING’ can ONLY be committed AFTER receiving the Knowledge of the Truth (which would we have
seen to be the Gospel). This sin is described in Hebrews 3:12-13 as Hardness of Heart and Unbelief.
Unbelief after hearing the Voice, the voice of the Gospel (Hebrews 4:2). The Gospel is the answer to the
problem of sin (Romans 1:16). Hence, unbelief in the Gospel is such a state where ‘there remaineth no
more sacrifice for sins’. It despises the provision of God as stated in Hebrews 10:1-18. A rejection of the
price paid for sin leaves such a person without any remedy for sin. This sin is further described in
Hebrews 10:29 as, ‘Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath
trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was
sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?’ In unbelief, there is the
‘trodding under foot the son of God’, the ‘counting the blood of the covenant wherewith he was
sanctified an unholy thing’ and a ‘doing despite unto the Spirit of Grace’. This is the blasphemy against
the Spirit. It is ONLY committable by the one who has heard the gospel, yet disbelieves it. A believer
CANNOT commit it. But what about, ‘..counting the blood of the covenant wherewith HE WAS
SANCTIFIED ..’? Doesn’t that describe the believer? Let the context explain the function of words.
‘Sanctification’ isn’t always applied to believers. For example, 1 Corinthians 7:14, ‘For the unbelieving
husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your
children unclean; but now are they holy.’ In Hebrews 10:29, sanctification would only be understood
from the Jewish perspective (the Law), which was a shadow of things to come, Christ being the
substance. To be sanctified here would mean that the sacrifice was offered FOR YOU. Jesus’ sacrifice is
propitiation for ALL of Humanity. As such, the unbeliever (in this context, the unbelieving Jew) rejects it.
Such a one has done ‘despite’ (In the Originals in means to ‘insult’, to ‘speak against’)unto the Spirit of
Grace. This is the blasphemy (In the Greek it means to speak against), against the Spirit Jesus spoke
about in Matthew 12:31. A believer is gone beyond this. He cannot commit this sin. Why? In answering
the next question, we understand why. The next question is, ‘what does it mean to ‘draw back’? We
continue later on.

If we sin willfully…(4)

In the last post, we established what it meant to ‘sin willfully’. We saw it to mean unbelief after hearing
the Gospel. We’d like to see what it means to ‘draw back’. Hebrews 10:38, ‘Now the just shall live by
faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.’ The phrase, ‘draw back’ comes
from a Greek word which means to, ‘withhold, to shun, to refrain from’. I’d like to note something about
a part of this verse; the Just shall live by faith. In all the times it was quoted in the New Testament
(Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38) it was linked to faith in the Gospel and salvation. It was
never used for post salvation experiences. To ‘draw back’ would mean to ‘refrain, to shun’ the offer of
the Gospel. Hebrews 3:7-8, ‘Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden
not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness.’ To ‘draw back’ would
mean to harden one’s heart in disbelief. To draw back is the willful sinning. We’ll continue later.

Hebrews 3-4
If we sin willfully……(5)

In the last post, we saw what it meant to ‘draw back’. We saw it meant to disbelieve the Gospel. It
means to shrink from the offer of the Gospel. Now, we’d like to answer the next question; at what point
does one drawback? It would seem we answered this question in the last post. But, we’d like to study a
bit further along these lines. We have so far established the context of the day which the author talks
about in Hebrews 10:25. We proceeded to see what the knowledge of the truth meant. We also saw
what it meant to ‘sin willfully’. We moved on to see what it meant to ‘draw back’. At what point does
one drawback? In many minds, due to lack of study, to draw back would mean to renounce the faith.
Anybody who has carefully followed our discussion will disagree with this notion. To draw back happens
at an event of offer. It doesn’t refer to leaving something one once held. Rather, it refers to rejecting an
offering made. So, at what point does one drawback? Hebrews 3:15-16, ‘..’. Hebrews 4:2. Here we see
clearly that it is at the point of hearing the Gospel. Faith or Unbelief happen at the point of hearing the
Gospel. There can be no Faith without hearing (Romans 10:17). Same for unbelief-Romans 10:18-21. To
believe or to draw back (disbelieve) happens at the point of hearing the Gospel. It doesn’t mean to
renounce one’s faith as popularly taught. Therefore, the man that ‘draws back’ is the unbeliever, the
one who hears the Gospel and does not believe it.

What God wants the whole world to know..

There is something very important that God wants the whole world to know. 2 Corinthians 5:19, 'For
God was in Christ, restoring the world to himself, no longer counting men’s sins against them but
blotting them out. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.' (TLB) I especially like the
construction, '..This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others'. What message? 'For God
was in Christ, restoring the world to himself, no longer counting men’s sins against them but blotting
them out.' This is what the God wants the whole world to know. This is what he has given us to preach!
This also is the witness of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 10:15-17, 'The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about
this. First he says: "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my
laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I
will remember no more."' (NIV). Glory to God! This is what the world needs to know! This is the message
that possesses their salvation! The Gospel is God's power unto salvation!- Romans 1:17. In the Gospel of
sins forgiven, is the inherent ability to save whosoever would hear and believe it! God wants the world
to know that their sins aren't counted against them because Jesus became sin- 2 Corinthians 5:21, 'For
he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in
him.' What a message! We've got to tell everyone! Glory!

Were you not afraid?

In this age of 'Free Speech', believers mustn't be caught up in the permissive irreverence that permeates
society. There are matters sacred to God that you must tread carefully on. One of such is issues
surrounding a minister of the Gospel... A man called of God. When it comes to matters like this, it ceases
to be a matter of right and wrong, it becomes a matter of irreverence. Numbers 12:5, ' With him will I
speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall
he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?' The background to
this story was the fact that Miriam and Aaron decided to take Moses to the cleaners over a supposed
wrong he did. To them he fouled. But soon they realized that God counts somethings weightier matters.
He asked them, 'were you not afraid'? David, a man after God's heart had cause to repeat these same
Words to someone else centuries later. 2 Samuel 1:14, 'And David said unto him, How wast thou not
afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed?' God's anointed! It's sad believers
speak casually of men and women God has called. Mind you, they will make mistakes and errors. But
yet, God chose them. And he expects us to honor them. God's grace upon people is independent of
whether they are sound doctrinally or not. We mustn't be casual with sacred things. What do I do if a
man of God does wrong? Simple, pray! Tell it NOT in Gath (The internet) nor publish it in Ashkelon (print
media). We forget the internet and print media is open to all and sundry. We throw our pearls before
swine in the name of 'Calling out a minister'. I've since realized that I could teach the truth without
'calling out' those who have been in ministry before my parents met. People would recognize the truth
as different from falsehood without feelings of animosity. When we 'call out' anyhow, we inspire strife.
Paul gave admonition to Pastors to denounce heretics WITHIN their pastoral purviews. Not some ill-
mannered blogger or unruly believer. Unwise people bring family issues into public glare, carnal
believers bring matters of the Church on the internet. Nobody is better, people are confused, many even
backslide as a result. Let's change things in our time.

Confession

I repent from talking evil about God’s servants. I give myself to whole speaking acceptable to God.

What the Holy Spirit will tell the world..

What exactly will the Spirit tell the world? Someone says, 'He'd tell the world they are sinners!' No, he
won't. Humanity needs no other influence to know its intrinsic rottenness. So, what will the Holy Spirit
tell the world? John 16:8-9, 'And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me'. What exactly does it mean to
'reprove' the world of sin. The Word, 'reprove' from the originals would be translated better as,
'convince, persuade'. It's to bring forth a compelling evidence. What exactly will the Holy Spirit convince
the world about sin? Jesus said he was to do this because they didn't believe on him. Hence, he'd
convince the world about sin with relation to Jesus. What exactly is this relationship? It is that Jesus
paid for sins completely! Hebrews 10:14-18, 'For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that
are sanctified. [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This [is]
the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their
hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now
where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for sin.' The word, 'witness' means, 'to affirm.. to
attest to a truth'. Based on the Sacrifice of Christ, sins aren't accounted. This is what the Spirit seeks the
whole world to know! 2 Corinthians 5:19-20, '....that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ,
not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We
are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you
on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.' (NIV) This is what the Spirit seeks to quicken every heart to and
he does it as we preach the Gospel! Glory to God!

All the promises of God...In him, Amen!... (1)

In 2 Corinthians 1:20, we are told, 'For all the promises of God in him [are] yea, and in him Amen, unto
the glory of God by us.' The promises of God? What promises? In this series, we shall endeavour to
some of these promises, as well as their fulfillment in Christ. The word, 'promise' in this verse is
translated from a Greek word that means, 'self committal'. In other words, what God will do himself. The
Old testament contains God's promissory notes on salvation, justification, sanctification, the outpouring
of the Spirit etc. All these promises have been fulfilled in Christ. Let's begin by studying one of these
promises. It is about the character of the New testament. Jeremiah 31:31-34, 'Behold, the days come,
saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to
bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto
them, saith the LORD: But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After
those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be
their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and
every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto
the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no
more.' This is the New covenant I WILL make...I WILL write my laws in their inward parts.. I WILL be their
God.. And it gets better! Their sins and iniquities I WILL remember NO MORE! In the New testament, sins
are not imputed. Let's see the fulfillment of this Scripture; Hebrews 10:14-18, 'For by one offering he
hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. [Whereof] the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for
after that he had said before, This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the
Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities
will I remember no more. Now where remission of these [is, there is] no more offering for sin.' Here he
speaks about the offering of Jesus as the reason for the New covenant. The result is, nothing more can
be done for sin! You can't offer your resolve to do better, restitute, repent etc. His offering was super
sufficient for all time Hebrews 10:12, 'But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever,
sat down on the right hand of God;' . God promised this in the Old testament and it's 'yea and amen'
(meaning fulfilled) in Christ! Glory! We'll continue later on...

Prayer

Thank you for the New Covenant which I’m a part of. Thank you for forgiveness in Jesus!

All the promises of God...In him, Amen!...(2)

Yesterday, we began to look at the promissory notes of God prophesied in the Old covenant and
fulfilled in Christ. We saw the how the character of the New testament was prophesied and fulfilled by
the offering of Christ. In the New testament, God doesn't impute sins. Today, we'd be looking at yet
another promissory note, fulfilled in Christ. It's about the eternal security of the one who believes.
Isaiah 51:6, 'Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die
in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.' God
says, 'my salvation... shall be FOREVER'. He personalizes salvation as his work...Look at it once more, 'my
salvation'..Salvation is of God and when he does it...It's forever. Let's see this promissory note, as 'amen'
in Christ. Hebrews 7:25, 'Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through
him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.' He saves forever! Salvation is so serious to
God that it will not be left to man's instability. It's God's most important venture in which he invested all
of himself as capital. The reason why Salvation is forever is because the intercessory ministry of Christ is
forever. Jesus means, 'God is Salvation'. Put this into perspective.. You'll realize, it means God is
salvation forever! Let's see more Scriptures detailing this. Hebrews 5:9, 'And being made perfect, he
became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;'. He authored, 'eternal salvation'.
We don't persevere unto salvation, we are preserved by God unto same. Hebrews 9:15, 'And for this
cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the
transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of
eternal inheritance.' The one who believes receives the promise (God's self committal) of eternal
redemption. In other words, by believing, we receive the divine pledge of eternal salvation. Hebrews
10:14, 'For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.' Jesus' offering perfected
us FOREVER! Glory to God! God's promise to save forever is 'Yea and Amen' in Christ! We'll continue
tomorrow!

Prayer

Thank you, father, for the reality of eternal salvation in Christ. I function in the assurance of my
salvation.

All the promises of God...In him, Amen!...(3)

So far, we have been examining God's promises, his promissory notes. These are God's statements of
self committal, what he would by himself accomplish, in Christ. So far, we have seen the character of the
New testament, as well as, Salvation. Today, we'd see God's promises about justification. Isaiah 45:24,
'Surely, shall [one] say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: [even] to him shall [men] come;
and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.' One shall say, 'In the Lord, I have righteousness'.
Glory! Isaiah 61:3, 'To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil
of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of
righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.' Trees of righteousness... The
plantings of the Lord! It's his making! Jeremiah 33:16, 'In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem
shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.' The
Lord, our righteousness! Let's see the fulfillment of same. Romans 3:26, 'To declare, [I say], at this time
his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.' He is the
Justifier of the one who believes! 2 Corinthians 5:21, 'For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew
no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.' All God's pledges to be unto us
righteousness, has been made, 'Amen' in Christ! Righteousness is a free gift and must be viewed and
related that way. It cannot be earned -Romans 4:1-5. When a man believes the Gospel, he is made
righteous before God- Romans 5:1. And this righteousness becomes his identity! Glory! Talk about
yourself as righteous in Christ, think about yourself as righteous and act right, because you are
righteous! Glory! We'll continue later on!

All the promises of God...In him, Amen!...(4)

It has been an awesome study so far on the fulfillment of God's promises in Christ. We have examined
topics from the New testament to Salvation to Justification. Today, we'd be seeing sanctification, in
promise and by fulfillment. Ezekiel 36:25, 'Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be
clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.' I WILL...sprinkle clean water
upon you and you shall be clean... It's his responsibility! Let's see another Scripture. Obadiah 1:17, 'But
upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess
their possessions.' Look at this..He didn't say, 'there must be holiness', he said, 'there shall be, holiness'.
In other words, holiness shall tabernacle in Zion. Who makes it so? God himself! Let's see some
fulfillment scriptures IN Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:2, 'Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them
that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:'. We are Sanctified IN HIM! 1 Corinthians 1:30, 'But of him
are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and
redemption:'. He is unto us sanctification! Hebrews 10:10, 'By the which will we are sanctified through
the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all].' Sanctified ONCE for all! Sanctification is done by
God in Christ. It's in the work of God accomplished in Christ, once for all! There is a difference between
right living and sanctification. The former is a function of the latter. We cannot be any more separated
unto God than we are in Christ. Our bodies are his! We bought us with a price. We belong to him, we are
separated unto him in Christ! Because of this, we PRESENT our bodies a living sacrifice, Holy and
acceptable unto him. He is not asking us to make our bodies 'Holy and acceptable'. He is asking us to
PRESENT them that way! The word, 'PRESENT' in the Greek means to, 'exhibit something as what it
really is'. In other words, I'll treat my body as holy because it really is! We live right, in our progressive
realization of our once and for all sanctification in him! The Holy Spirit enlightens us to all that Christ has
wrought. Glory! We'll continue later..

Prayer

Thank you, Father, you are my sanctification in Christ. I live in this consciousness today and always.

All the promises of God...In him, Amen!...(5)

We have had a lovely time exploring God's promises as well as their fulfillment in Christ. So far, we have
seen the New testament, Salvation, Justification, Sanctification and today, in the last of this series, we'd
be examining the indwelling of the Spirit. Ezekiel 36:26-27, 'A new heart also will I give you, and a new
spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an
heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep
my judgments, and do [them].’ I WILL put a New Spirit within you! Glory! And this Spirit would cause you
to walk in his ways. This thought is mirrored in fulfillment in Romans 8:14, 'For as many as are led by the
Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.' 'Led' here, means to, 'impel, to propel'. It's pretty much the
same idea as, 'cause' in Ezekiel 36:27. Glory to God! We are led by the Spirit! Joel 2:28-29, 'And it shall
come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the
servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.' This refers to the activity of the
Spirit. The term, 'upon' is used to point out the actions in the Spirit, particularly utterances. Hence, here,
we have God's promissory note for the manifestation of the Spirit. Let's see it in fulfillment. Acts 2:14-
33, 'But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea,
and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not
drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by
the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all
flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your
old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days
of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth
beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon
into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, [that]
whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of
Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him
in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and
foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath
raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right
hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover
also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine
Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of
joy with thy countenance. Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that
he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and
knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he
would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that
his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof
we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the
Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.' The Holy
Spirit indwells us today! A believer is one who has received the Spirit -John 7:39. The Holy Spirit is the
presence of the Father, with us and in us -Ephesians 2:22! What a glorious life!

Prayer

Father, I thank you for the indwelling of the Spirit in me. I yield myself to the manifestation of the things
of the Spirit.

How to have a 'Sin revival'.

If there is any accusation that recurs regularly to those who teach the redemptive work of Christ, it is
that they, 'give people a license to sin'. However, such a notion is unfounded. In this discuss, I'd like us to
see what really 'gives' the license to sin... Is it the message of God's Grace in Christ? Let's study. Romans
5:20, 'But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and
exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God's unmerited favor) has
surpassed it and increased the more and superabounded,' (AMP). The law came to make sin more
apparent. Why has God rejected the law? Romans 3:20, 'Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall
no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.' The law brought man the 'full
comprehension by way of acquaintance' with sin. Paul describes this perfectly in Romans 7:7-9, 'What
shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not
known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the
commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin [was] dead. For I
was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.'
Interesting...'when the commandment came, sin revived'. Romans 8:2-3, 'For the law of the Spirit of life
in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it
was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:'. The law couldn't contain sin! The offering of Jesus did! That's what we
preach! Romans 8:13, 'For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the
deeds of the body, ye shall live.' Here, we see the two ways by which attempts are made to contain sin.
First, to be 'after the flesh' (to operate by the law in this context; compare also with Galatians 3:1-5)
which will result in death. How? Romans 7:9-10, 'For I was alive without the law once: but when the
commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which [was ordained] to life, I
found [to be] unto death.' The second way, is through the Spirit. This doesn't suggest we 'do' something,
rather, it refers to 'being in Christ'..Simply put, Salvation. Romans 8:3, 'For what the law could not do, in
that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:'. What the law couldn't do, Christ did! Glory! Galatians 5:24, 'And they that
are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.' They HAVE! Their decision brought
them to liberty through the body of Christ which was crucified, and we also by identification with him.
Jesus defeated sin! The law causes a sin revival. But looking unto Jesus brings into liberty from the
motions of sin! Thanks a million, Jesus!

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for the victory over sin. I live every day in this consciousness!
