Q-02: It is required to calculate the lateral wind loads acting on the 8-


story building, considering the wind is acting in the North-South
direction. The building which is used as headquarter for police
operation, is 90ft x 45ft in plan as shown in the figure (enclosed), and
located flat terrain. Use a basic wind speed of 160mph and Exposure D.

• Q-04: Calculate the lateral forces on a 10 story building subjected to


wind load using ASCE-7 wind loads provisions. The bottom two floors
are 15ft high remaining all are 10ft high. Consider the Exposure C and
the basic wind speed is 100mph, the size of the building is 60 x 60 ft2.
Furthermore, the building is a part of post-disaster emergency
communication systems so Iw = 1.15?
