ENGINE BLEED PRESSURE TRANSMITTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Remove Pressure Transmitter
A. Remove access panel No. 3756 or 3856, as applicable, in the
stairwell (Ref Chapter 12 Access Doors and Panels).
B. Disconnect pressure sensing line from transmitter (Fig. 401).
CAUTION : HOLD TRANSMITTER WHILE DISCONNECTING LINE. IF
WRENCHING LOADS ARE APPLIED THROUGH SHOCKMOUNT
SPRINGS OR GROMMETS THE TRANSMITTER INSTALLATION MAY
BE DAMAGED.

C. Disconnect electrical connector.

D. Remove transmitter.
(1) Unfasten lockwire and loosen clamp.
(2) Remove transmitter from shockmount.
NOTE : It may be easier to first remove shockmount with
transmitter attached from bracket by removing
attaching bolts.

2. Install Pressure Transmitter

A. Check that ambient vent port marked "V" is not plugged.
B. Position pressure transmitter in shockmount with electrical
connector facing up (Fig. 401).
C. Tighten clamp ensuring that there is the following minimum
clearance between transmitter and shockmount in all directions:
(1) Round shockmount: 1/8"
(2) Hexagonal shockmount: 1/4"
D. If shockmount was removed, lockwire clamp and install
shockmount on bracket with bolts, nuts, and washers.
E. Connect pressure sensing line to pressure port of transmitter
marked "P," ensuring that line position is such that there is

F. Connect electrical connector.

G. Provide electrical power.
H. Check that circuit breaker PRESS IND on panel P6 is closed.
I. Adjust zero reset hexnut on pressure transmitter so that
pressure gage on third crewman's panel reads zero pressure with
no pressure in ducts.
J. Lockwire clamp unless step 2.D. was accomplished.
K. Check that following circuit breakers are closed (P6 panel).
(1) BLEED AIR VALVE - ENGINE NO. 2, ENGINE NO. 1 & ENGINE NO.
3
(2) PACK VALVES
(3) OVERHEAT
(4) BLEED AIR VALVE CONTROL
(5) COOLING FAN CONTROL
L. Open and safety to open ENGINE START VALVES circuit breaker
(P6).
M. Check that ENGINE 1, 2 and 3 FIRE switches are at NORMAL.
N. Check that ENGINE BLEED AIR switches are at CLOSE.
O. Check that LEFT and RIGHT A/C PACK switches are at OFF.
P. Pressurize pneumatic system using APU (Ref 49-00 , Maintenance
Practices).

NOTE : A ground pneumatic source may also be used except it

will be necessary to position both ENGINE 2/APU BLEED
switches to OPEN for checking leakage at left pressure
transmitter.

Q. Position either ENGINE 2/APU BLEED switch to OPEN and check

that there is no leakage at transmitter tubing connection.
R. Check that pressure indication from transmitter being replaced
is approximately the same as the pressure of the other side.
S. Return applicable BLEED AIR switch(es) to CLOSE.
T. Close panel removed in 1.A.
U. Close ENGINE START VALVES circuit breaker (P6).
V. Shut down APU (Ref 49-00 , Maintenance Practices).
W. Remove electrical power if no longer required.
