ENDANGERED ANIMALS
Human actions have a preponderant force with regard to the extinction of animal
species. Hunting and overfishing, deforestation, fires, uncontrolled urban growth and
other human actions in combination with these that lead to the high rate of animal
extinction. The destruction of natural habitats caused mainly by human action leaves
animals without places to live and reproduce. Thus, many are forced into a migration,
which in many cases, the animals do not survive and affect the food chain. The food chain
represents all the feeding relationships of an ecosystem. Life on earth depends on the
interactions that happen within the food chain. Human actions can affect the food chain
and be detrimental to the stability of the ecosystem. For example, human interventions in
nature can favor the growth of animal and plant species in unsuitable locations.
In Brazil, this issue is extremely important, illegal actions have affected a large
number of animal species. Among the animals at risk of extinction are the jaguar, the
golden lion tamarin and the giant anteater, animals that belong to the Brazilian fauna.
Therefore, the extinction of an animal that is at the top of the food chain can result
in an increase in its prey, causing environmental imbalance. Endangered animals is a very
important agenda, it is up to all individuals to discuss their implications for the
environment and for life on the planet. Actions to combat hunting, fishing, deforestation
and fires need to be combated with effective and severe punishments by the supervisory
bodies in union with society. Protecting the lives of these animals that are at risk of
becoming extinct is a duty for everyone, not just the legal representatives of the
government. It is necessary that the actions that are fought are individual and collective.
