condition; also fuselage in area around pitot static probes for damage (RVSM Critical
ref 34.10.00.A).
Fwd Fuselage
2. Check drain masts and drains for fluid leakage.
Check
3. Check navigation/communication antennas for condition.
4. Visually inspect the ram air inlet/exhaust doors to ensure there are no obstructions.
5. Check positive pressure relief valves have not opened (Red area of valve not on
display).

Right Wing (MPD 27-052-01), fluid leakage and presence of static dischargers.
Check 2. Check visible portion of R wing flight control surfaces for obvious damage and fluid
leakage (MPD 27-052-01).
1. Check right main wheel bay as visible for obvious leaks and condition.
Right Main
2. Check right landing gear, wheels, tyres and brakes for wear and condition
Gear Check
(MPD 32-029-00).
3. Check right MLG shock strut extension appears normal.
1. Check cowling for obvious damage, open blow out doors, open latches and signs of
Left Engine fluid leakage. Ref AMM 71-71-00 page block 600 for limits.
Check 2. Check inlet cowl, fan rotor spinner and fan rotor blades for obvious damage.
3. Check turbine exhaust sleeve, plug and visible turbine blades for obvious damage.
1. Check L wing lower surface and wing tip/winglet for obvious damage
(MPD 27-052-01), fluid leakage and presence of static dischargers.
Left Wing Check
2. Check visible portion of L wing flight control surfaces for obvious damage and fluid
leakage. (MPD 27-052-01)
1. Check left main wheel bay as visible for obvious leaks and condition.
Left Main Gear
2. Check left landing gear, wheels, tyres and brakes for wear and condition
Check
(MPD 32-029-00).
3. Check left MLG shock strut extension appears normal.
1. Check crew seats (including adjusters and seat lock) and harness for operation,
condition and security. Ensure life jackets in stowage and panels secure.
2. Check cockpit windscreens and windows for cleanliness and serviceability.
Flight Deck Check
3. ETOPS Check Engine oil quantity (within 30 minutes from engine shutdown) by
EICAS and service for intended flight (MPD 79-309-01). Assess previous sector reports
for excessive oil up-lift, consult Maintrol for an oil consumption report if concerned -
Record uplift on Sector Page. Ref. AMM 12-13-01.
Volcanic Ash - If flight has encountered volcanic ash or if ash is detected during check then ensure
External including that an MOR is raised and refer to CATP Procedure GEN 1002 for further instructions
engines and APU and perform AMM 05-51-31 volcanic ash conditional inspection as applicable.
1. ETOPS Review Aircraft Status Sheets and ADD’s for RVSM and repair interval
compliance and any items that may affect the intended flight Ensure adequate
Tech Log
hours/cycles/calendar time remains on all Out of Phase inspections.
2. Certify Pre Flight Check in the Technical Log.
NOTE: Both the Post Flight and Pre Flight Sections must be accomplished before the aircraft may be dispatched.
The ‘Post Flight’ section tasks must be repeated prior to flight if the time interval between carrying out the ‘Post Flight’ and ‘Pre
Flight’ sections is more than 12 hrs; the only exception being that the task to ‘check engine oil quantity and service as required’,
need not be repeated (as this task is to be carried out within 30 minutes from engine shutdown).
