POST FLIGHT SECTION MECH/ INSP
Radome Check Radome for damage and security.

1. Check Nose Wheel Bay for obvious leaks and security.

2. Check Nose Wheels and Tyres for condition (MPD 32-029-00) and shock strut

1. Check static ports, TAT and pitot static probes and angle of attack vanes for
condition; also fuselage in area around pitot static probes for damage (RVSM Critical
ref 34.10.00.A).
Fwd Fuselage
2. Check drain masts and drains for fluid leakage.

3. Check navigation/communication antennas for condition.
4. Visually inspect the ram air inlet/exhaust doors to ensure there are no obstructions.
5. Check positive pressure relief valves have not opened (Red area of valve not on
display).

1. Check cowling for obvious damage, open blow out doors, open latches and signs of

fluid leakage. Ref AMM 71-71-00 page block 600 for limits.
Engine Check
2. Check inlet cowl, fan rotor spinner and fan rotor blades for obvious damage.
3. Check turbine exhaust sleeve, plug and visible turbine blades for obvious damage.

1. Check R wing lower surface and wing tip/winglet for obvious damage
Right Wing (MPD 27-052-01), fluid leakage and presence of static dischargers.
Check 2. Check visible portion of R wing flight control surfaces for obvious damage and fluid
leakage (MPD 27-052-01).

1. Check right main wheel bay as visible for obvious leaks and condition.

2. Check right landing gear, wheels, tyres and brakes for wear and condition

3. Check right MLG shock strut extension appears normal.

1. Check navigation/communication antennas for condition.


Aft 2. Check drain masts and drains for fluid leakage.
Fuselage and 3. Check vertical fin and rudder, horizontal stabilizers and elevators for obvious
Empennage damage, evidence of fluid leakage, and presence of static dischargers.
Check 4. Visually inspect the cabin pressure outflow valve to ensure there are no
obstructions.
5. Check tail skid pad for signs of tail strike (767-300 only).

2. Check left landing gear, wheels, tyres and brakes for wear and condition

NOTE: For ETOPS flights this check must be accomplished by ETOPS authorised person

1. Check crew seats (including adjusters and seat lock) and harness for operation,
condition and security. Ensure life jackets in stowage and panels secure.
2. Check cockpit windscreens and windows for cleanliness and serviceability.
Flight Deck Check
3. ETOPS Check Engine oil quantity (within 30 minutes from engine shutdown) by
EICAS and service for intended flight (MPD 79-309-01). Assess previous sector reports
for excessive oil up-lift, consult Maintrol for an oil consumption report if concerned -
Record uplift on Sector Page. Ref. AMM 12-13-01.
Volcanic Ash - If flight has encountered volcanic ash or if ash is detected during check then ensure
External including that an MOR is raised and refer to CATP Procedure GEN 1002 for further instructions
engines and APU and perform AMM 05-51-31 volcanic ash conditional inspection as applicable.

PRE FLIGHT SECTION MECH / INSP


Check complete aircraft externally:
1. Check for obvious damage, defects and leakage.
2. Check panels for security.
3. Check landing gear and flight control locks/pins removed.
4. Check pitot static covers and blanks removed.
5. Ensure Ice, Frost or snow removed as required paying particular attention to
aerofoils, control surfaces and hinges.
External
6. Visually inspect crew oxygen discharge indicator disc for presence.
7. Check that fuelling station door is closed.
8. Ensure that all fuel to be uplifted has been checked for contamination.
9. After toilet and water servicing, check cavities and water tank drain outlets for
signs of leakage and correct fitment of blanking caps.
1. Ensure toilets are serviced and potable water contents replenished, confirm by
Cabin performing test on rear cabin attendant panel.
2. Ensure aircraft interior has been cleaned.
1. Check all circuit breakers are CLOSED or COLLARED.
2. Ensure wing and tail hydraulic shut-off valves are selected on.
3. On FMC Ident page, check current date falls within database dates in ‘Active Slot’
and ‘Route Ident’ is applicable for the aircraft route to be flown.
4. ETOPS Check ‘APU Oil Qty’ EICAS status message is NOT displayed.
Assess previous sector reports for excessive oil up-lift, consult Maintrol for an oil
consumption report if concerned - Record uplift on Sector Page. Ref. AMM 12-13-04.
5. Check the “Left”, “Centre” and “Right” hydraulic system quantities using EICAS and
Flight Deck Check Service as required. Quantities uplifted should be recorded in the Tech Log.
6. Check tool kit contents IAW Form ENG/6049 (copy in Technical Log).
7. Check Tech Log for compliance with all maintenance requirements and validity of 48
Hour Service Check.
8. Carry out a system operational check of the Crew Oxygen
IAW AMM TASK12-15-08-603-001
CAUTION
Engine Oil filler
IF ENGINE OIL SERVICED SINCE LAST FLIGHT ENSURE OIL FILLER CAP IS

The ‘Post Flight’ section tasks must be repeated prior to flight if the time interval between carrying out the ‘Post Flight’ and ‘Pre
Flight’ sections is more than 12 hrs; the only exception being that the task to ‘check engine oil quantity and service as required’,
need not be repeated (as this task is to be carried out within 30 minutes from engine shutdown).
