Dear Jaya,

I would like to work with Artaaj for my summer internship.

Artaaj is a firm which is working in a very innovative domain, catering to unique promotional needs of clients and
thereby doing some very creative and challenging work. With a diverse clientele of more than 250 clients and a
plethora of different kinds of promotional & other projects, Artaaj is just the kind of fast paced work environment
I am looking forward to. The diversity of projects guarantees that one will get opportunities to deal with different
situations and face new challenges every day. Also, Artaaj’s unique philosophy of measuring its own success
through client satisfaction is commendable. These two aspects strongly attract me towards a career with Artaaj,
given that I am a very result oriented person who likes facing diverse challenges.

I would like to work in the Events & Promotions area at Artaaj. As a student at IIT Kharagpur, apart from
developing analytical skills, I was immensely involved in various organizational activities. I was a part of the core
organizing team of many different fests & events including the main cultural fest Spring Fest; the techno
management fest Kshitij and other inter-hostel competitions and festivals as well. Also, as the elected General
Secretary of my department at IIT Kharagpur I was the sole manager of COMPOSIT, which is the national
symposium of the department. Here at IIM Ahmedabad, I am working as a member in the team that organizes
Confluence, which is one of the largest collegiate business events that take place in India. Working in these roles
has given me an opportunity to understand the various challenges that are associated with Event Management. I
have obtained an insight on various aspects right from obtaining sponsorship for events and understanding the
sponsors’ promotional needs to managing high profile guests, handling logistics, making hospitality arrangements
for participants and guests, hosting events and delegating responsibility to achieve all this efficiently. I have always
felt extremely excited while working in these roles and have achieved a high degree of success. Therefore I believe
I would bring a great deal of energy, enthusiasm and passion if given an opportunity to work for Artaaj and would
be able to surpass client expectations. My past two years of work experience in the finance industry has not only
provided me with the acumen to appreciate the financial aspect and budgeting issues which would be associated
with event management but has also taught me how to work in multi-ethnic and multi-cultural teams seamlessly.

At Artaaj I would like to be a part of Events & Promotions. I would thereby like to take ownership of parts of
different events & be made responsible and answerable for the same. I would like be involved in the event at
different stages including pitching to clients, detailing event plan & budget, preparation of contingency plan and
actual execution of the event. I would also like to look at Artaaj as a long term career opportunity and would thus
like to learn much more about the firm. Also, given the fact that the industry that Artaaj serves has a lot of
untapped business potential in India, I would like to look at promotional opportunities in India.

I believe my past organizational & professional experience combined with my interest in event management build
a strong case for me to work at Artaaj. Looking forward to hearing from the team at Artaaj.
