CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Information Technology is collecting, processing, storage, disseminations, and

use of information technology. Technology plays an important role in delivering timely

and accurate information to its recipients.

Communication is a process in which information is transferred from sender to

receiver using some medium/channel.

Today is the Information and Technology (IT) age. E-learning is another term for

learning via ICT. ICT is an essential component of modern life. Teachers provide

quality education by utilizing ICT.

1.1 Background of the Study

According to the 1998 UNESCO World Education Report, students and

instructors must have enough access to digital technology and the internet in their

classrooms, schools, and teacher educational institutions. Teachers must be

knowledgeable and skilled in the use of new digital tools in order to assist all pupils in

attaining high academic standards. According to UNESCO (2002).

ICT is a scientific, technological, and engineering discipline and management

approach utilized in information processing, application, and integration with social,

economic, and cultural issues. ICT is an abbreviation that stands for Information and

Communication Technologies, and it encompasses all technologies for information

processing and communication (Swati Desai, 2010). Appropriate ICT use can

revolutionize the entire teaching-learning process, resulting in a paradigm shift in

both content and instructional methods (Anu Sharma et al., 2011). ICT is one of the

primary drivers of our society's rapid change.

It has the potential to alter the nature of education and the roles of students

and teachers in the teaching and learning process (Baishakhi Bhattacharjee and

Kamal Deb, 2016). ICT enables a teacher to reach out to a large number of students in

an efficient and effective manner. It assists educators and institutions in becoming

more modern and dynamic. (2017) (Sexana et al.).

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to investigate Role of ICT in Learning Process. Specifically, it

needs to answer the following questions:

1. How to promote and facilitates the relationship between human and the

environment?

2. What are the tool to promote technology literacy of all citizens, especially for

students.?

3. How to increase equal opportunities to obtain education and information?

4. Is there a relationship between providing prospects and trends of integrating

information and communication technology into general education activities?

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY

This study is expected to be of much importance and beneficial to future

researchers, students, teachers, and school.

Future researchers. The findings of this study may be used by future

researcher who will conduct related investigation.

Students. The findings of the study will help students to increase students’

concentration and easily assimilate concepts more quickly, enhancing learning.

Teachers. This study will help teachers easily access online databases.

Educational websites, digital libraries that provide wealth of information and

resources of their lesson.

School. The findings of this study may be used to school for future references

and improves engagement and knowledge retention and integration into lessons.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The general purpose of this study about the role of ICT in learning process is for

the benefit of all students, teachers and who uses ICT.

The respondents will be selected from the school and community. Only twenty

(20) to thirty (30) persons are allowed to answer questions.

(20) to thirty (30) persons are allowed to answer questions.
