Subject Pass/Fail Requirements

In order to pass this subject you must meet the

following requirements:
 all assessment items must be presented on time, unless
extensions have been granted;
 all assessment items need be completed to a passing standard,
and
 The minimum grade for assignments and exams must be 40%
 assignments that do not meet the criteria mentioned above will
not be deemed to be at a satisfactory standard and will receive a
Fail grade.
 you may be asked to resubmit unsatisfactory assessment items.

K.Cho Lecture 1 5
Resit and Resubmission of
assignments
Eligibility conditions for resits and resubmissions:

Students must meet the following conditions in order to qualify for

a resit/resubmission –
 they made a genuine first attempt at the assessment item;
 they must have had satisfactory attendance (>=80%) for the
tutorials;
 the original result for the assessment item must be in the range
30% - 49%;
 they have not already completed a resit/resubmission for this
item;
 A resit or resubmission is at the discretion of the Subject
Coordinator, in consultation with the teacher.

K.Cho Lecture 1 6
Late Assignments
Assignments submitted late for this subject will
lose 10% of your marks per day – up to 5
days (up to 50%). Assignments submitted late
after 5 days will be given zero (0) marks. It is

 All non-zero digits are significant.
 Zeros between non-zero digits are significant.
 Zeros at the end of a decimal are significant.
 Zeros at the beginning of a decimal are NOT significant.
 Zeros at the end of a whole numbers are assumed to
be NOT significant. Unless information regarding the
accuracy of the value shows that they are.
