    Subject: Clarification regarding import /manufacturing of goods, notified under CRO ,


    for demonstration, research and development or testing- reg

    The Government of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology


    (MeitY), has mandated Compulsory Registration for product categories notified under
    the Schedule of the "Electronics and IT Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration)
    Order, 2021 (CRO)".

    2. In this regard, it is clarified that the provisions of the Order shall not apply to the goods
    manufactured or imported for the purpose of demonstration, research and development or
    testing, provided that such goods be subsequently exported or deformed beyond use and
    disposed off as scrap.
