INTRODUCTION

Internship or on the job training is one way by which we students are given an opportunity

to apply the theories and computations that we have learned from school. It also helps us

to obtain applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges and

universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number of

hours as part of the curriculum.

For us students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go through the

actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipments, and documents. In

effect, the work place becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more

about our chosen field and practice what we have learn from academy.

On the other hand, a valuable OJT program also profits the companies who accept trainees.

First OJT or intern provides extra manpower for a less significant labor cost than a regular

employee. Most of them are all eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that they'll be

given a chance to work on the same company as an employee after graduating.

Employers can use this internship strategy as method in recruiting employees. Since the

trainer or supervisor can follow the trainees progress, he can gauge based on performance,

behavior and attitude if the trainee will make good recruit after the completion of his

internship. We trainees can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity

to converse our minds freely and without fear, we may be able to contribute significantly in

brainstorming sessions or research and eventually help improve the organizations

productivity.

While training the inters, employers are in fact also teach their employees to guide the

trainees by stretching their patience, develop teaching skills and make them more sensitive

to the needs and mind set of the younger generation. The course of supervision also
teaches them how to share what they know and be receptive to questions. Hence, the

internship also becomes an avenue in training for future managers of the company.

On-the-job Training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students

about the work and their future career. It is a type of skill development where a worker

learns how to do the work through hands-on experience. On the Job Training is one method

by which students are exposed with different work situation designed to give students an

opportunity to experience and a chance to apply the theories and computation that they

have learned from the school. It also helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and

skills by performing in actual work setting.

OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but also to

show students the reality about working. The students will be exposed to the actual work

related to the course that they are taking. It also allows those with no experience to work

and to learn at the same time. On-the-Job Training helps the trainee to learn more about

his chosen field and practice what he has learned from the school. It helps in the building

up of the trainee's competence. Of course, when a students is competent enough, he will

be able to do things successfully and. This training develops one's professionalism in dealing

with people. After the training, the trainee will be able to handle situations properly and

he'll be able to know how to socialize well with his colleagues. He will also be able to work

well with everyone and he'll have a good teamwork. OJT also enhances the critical thinking

abilities and discipline of the student conducting his training in a company. His ability to

make sound decisions and evaluate pertinent factors will be improved.

Having a proper On-the-Job Training helps in the preparation of future professionals for

their future jobs. What the students learned in their On-the-Job Training, even the little

things, can be applied when they are already working. Students will be trained not only

academically but socially as well. The way they work and communicate with others will not
be a problem for them anymore. It also gives the trainee the chance to immerse himself in

his chosen field and experience and learn the skills necessary to the industry he is

interested in. Working with experienced staff, one will be able to observe how the job is

done properly.

Aside from work experience, On-the-Job Training allows the trainee to get acquainted with

the real professionals and to meet people having different positions in the company, either

high or low. The trainee will be able to know how to adjust to other people's personalities

and attitudes.

On-the-Job Training requires effort and seriousness. A trainee should take the OJT seriously

as it can be a powerful tool for a person in preparing for the next chapter of life as a

professional. It can possibly be a source of recommendation when they take that big lift

from being students to career professionals someday.

3rd and 4th week of training

I was at Century Park Hotel in the Housekeeping Department. It was very challenging work

for me but with the help of other staff and our supervisor I was able to do my training well.

For my work I see to it that I work efficiently and follow the standard procedure in

performing my tasks. I clean first the comfort room and followed by the bed making and

collect all the linens to the laundry area. I also refill empty bottles for the guest and clean
the window, mirror and floor. I see to it that before I leave the place that it is clean and

refreshing.

That is my work everyday for the two weeks stay at Century Park Hotel. And I can say that

io learned a lot from the experience that I've been through in the establishment.

A Related learning Experience

Some related learnings that I encountered in my span of training is that I learned a lot from

my mentors who teaches us how to be work efficiently in times of hassle

work and encountered some problems.

B. Interpersonal Experience

In my one month training in the establishment was able to value the importance of time

management and how to deal with the rules and policy in the establishment especially

when it comes from the Housekeeping Department because we will be dealing with the

things and belongings of every guest that are staying in the hotel.

C. Memorable Experience
The memorable experience that had on my training was to experience such a great

opportunity working in the industry. After pandemic we were not able to expect that we

will be given the opportunity to experience being in the field. Working their and being with

some awesome and experience Trainor was a great memorable to me.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

I did give my very best in this training and perform my job effectively so that I can use these

in the future. And for both establishment s that I've been working for they did a great job in

training their employees well. I cant say anything against the both establishment but a very

much appreciation and grateful that I'll be able to be one of the team.
