WHAT IS AN INTERVIEW?
Study these dialogs about the interviews!
• Interviewer : Good morning, please, sit down.
• Candidate : Thank you.
• Interviewer : Welcome to our office. My name is John Miller. Your name’s Agus
prasetyo, isn’t it?
• Candidate : Yes, that’s right.
• Interviewer :We’ve received your application letter, curriculum vitae, and credentials.
Now, we’re going to interview you to get more information about you. To
start with, would you please tell me a little about yourself?
• Candidate : All right. My name’s Agus Prasetyo. My friends usually call me Agus.
That’s my nickname.I am from Yogyakarta, but actually I was born in
Surabaya and grew up in Malang. My father was an air force officer so he
moved from one city to the other city. Now I live with my parents in
Yogyakarta.
• Interviewer : Now, would you please tell me about your educational background?
• Candidate : Well…after leaving senior high school in 2003, I continued my study in
Gajah Mada University. I was admitted in the economic faculty, majoring
in management.
• Interviewer : Can you tell me about your strong characters?
• Candidate : Yes, I am a perfectionist, hard working and disciplined person. Besides,
I am target oriented and can stay focused on my work.
• Interviewer : what is your main weakness?
• Candidate: My main weakness? Well, I get nervous when
the task does not get done on time. Maybe, because I am
a perfectionist so I always try to do my best to accomplish
my work. I am aware of the problem, so that at the
beginning of the year I usually structure my plan with
specific time line.
• Interviewer : Have you got any work experience?
• Candidate: No, I haven’t.I graduated from Gajah Mada
University in July 2016. so, actually I’m a fresh graduate.
• Interviewer :Now, would you please tell me about
your skills?
• Candidate: I have managerial and leadership skills.
Besides, I can speak two foreign languages, English and
Japanese.

• Interviewer : What is your full name?
• Candidate : My full name is Alam Evi Ratnasari.
• Interviewer : Where are you from?
• Candidate : I am from Bandung
• Interviewer : Where do you live?
• Candidate : I live at jl Sudirman no 5, Yogyakarta
• Interviewer : Which university did you graduate from?
• Candidate : I graduate from Indonesian University
• Interviewer : When did you graduate from the university?
• Candidate : I graduate from the university in 2005.
• Interviewer : What did you major in?
• Candidate : I majored in chemical engineering.
• Interviewer : What made you interested in that subject/major?
• Candidate :I chose chemical engineering as I liked doing chemical
experiments or researches in the laboratory.
• Interviewer : Why are you interested in applying for this position ?
• Candidate : I am interested in this position because it’s suitable with my
subject and I really like and enjoy it .

A : good morning, Could you tell me who you are and your
educational background?
B : Good morning sir, my name is Vicky prasetyo, I graduated
from university of Pamulang. I took economic major.
A : Could you describe what kind of job are you looking for?
B : I would like to apply in marketing position, and I would like
to work in international finance world company. I am
interested in a travel and meeting new people.
A : What kind of hours do you want?
B : I’d like regular day time hours on weekday and Saturday
hours in a while.
A : Ok thank you for nice interview today. If you pass from this
interview you will be called by my company and you
can join the second interview test. See you.
B : Yes, thank you very much sir. See you.
INTERVIEW 4
A : Good morning welcome to my company, please tell about your name and your
educational background.
B : My name is Rangga Wijayanto , I graduated from Alaba university in 1994 in a
computer major.
A : Why did you choose computer major?
B : I choose that because I know people who graduated from computer major has
a big opportunity to apply in many companies.
A: Ok, the position that you apply is computer programmer. What kind of hours
do you want?
B: I’d like a full time work, but want to get morning job.
A : Ok that would be fine. Your hours choice is available in my company. If you
are accepted as the employee, you can come next week to discuss
about your salary.
B : Yes sir, that is sounds great for me.
A : Thank you for coming to today’s interview. See you.
B : You are welcome sir. See you.
