Teacher’s Day

Dear Diary,
Tomorrow is the 5th of September. Nationwide it is celebrated
as Teacher’s Day to honour the great soul who was born on
that particular day, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. There are
butterflies in my stomach tonight, since tomorrow I have to
present a speech at school. It is also an honour that I have been
chosen out of so many aspirants. I have therefore written a
beautiful speech appreciating the noble profession of our
teachers.

They inspire us to do great things, chide us when we are wrong

and dispel all our childish pomposity. They help us refine our
crude selves and become respectable members of society. In
honour of my favourite teacher Mrs. Saini, I have dedicated a
small paragraph in the speech to her. I sincerely hope that I am
able to deliver the speech tomorrow without any trepidation.

Good night.

The Night Before The Examination

Examinations are always fearful. They are a great cause of

fear, anxiety, tension and worry. The night before the
examination is really painful. The students have no sleep.
They stop eating food. They want to read and revise
everything. They are disturbed if someone tells them about an
important question. They at once read for its answer. They are
irritated also if anyone disturbs them. They pass the whole
night in tension. They do not take anything in the morning.
They go to the examination hall on empty stomachs.

The Shepherd Boy and the WolfA

pshepherd boy looked after a flock of sheep. One day he wished

to have some fun so he shouted “Wolf! Wolf! Help! Help!”
All the men working in the field, hearing the boy’s shouts, came
running up with sticks in their hands to drive the wolf away.
“Where is the wolf ?” they said. “There is no wolf,” said the boy.
“I called out for fun. What fun it was to see you all running up for
nothing. The men were very angry that the boy had played a
trick. One day, however the wolf did really come. The boy
shouted, “wolf! wolf!” But the neighbours did not believe him!
They thought he was simply calling out for fun. So they did not
come to the boy’s help. The wolf killed the boy and his sheep.

My dear Kanina,

I would like to share with you a pleasant experience. You know

my cousin Shankar is in Mumbai. He had invited me to stay with
him for a week. I accepted his invitation because I wanted to see
Mumbai.

So I went to Mumbai on 14th October. Soon after reaching there.

I heard about a conference. It was a conference on 'How to
combat terrorism' With the permission of the Chair, I was also
allowed to speak there. You can imagine my happiness when I
got the appreciation of the crowd. All of them appreciated my
point of view.
I will give you the details of my speech when we meet.
With love
Yours affectionately
Ravina
