FSQS 8.1 Food Safety and Quality Systems SOP Manual 06/04/2015

OBJECTIVE
All employees and Visitors/Contractors to the facility will receive a copy of the current GMP Policy.
All employees will have carefully read and understand the following guidelines. All visitors/contractors
shall sign the visitors log in acknowledgment and understanding of the GMP’s.

• Personal cleanliness is maintained by individuals and good hygiene practices are followed.
• No jewelry, other than plain wedding bands allowed. Other objects that might contaminate the
product, such as artificial nails, false eyelashes are not allowed.
• Loose objects such as pens, thermometers etc. that might fall into food equipment or containers are
not to be carried above-the-waist.
• King’s Hawaiian issued bump caps, hairnets, and protective clothing must be properly worn in the
designated food processing areas. Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be covered with a beard net.
• Outer garments must be clean and suitable for operations. They do not contribute to product
contamination and they are laundered regularly.
• Individuals appearing to have an illness or an open cut/wound are excluded from any operation in
which they would prepare or come into contact with food products, packing, or contact surface,
until condition is corrected. Any wound is to be cleaned and covered with an approved bandage. A
glove is to be worn at all times.
• Individuals must wash their hands when entering food-processing areas, after absence from the
workstation, when changing job assignments and when their hands may have become soiled or
contaminated.
• Any individual with direct contact with any food product, such as, sorting or hand packing, must
wear gloves. Gloves will be disposed of any time that the employee leaves their immediate work
area. A new pair must be worn upon re-entering the work area. Any torn, damaged or soiled gloves
will be disposed of as necessary
• Smoking is permitted only in designated areas outside of the processing areas.
• Spitting on interior and exterior grounds is strictly prohibited.
• Eating, chewing gum, and drinking is not allowed in the production and warehouse areas.
• Individuals have a separate area away from the processing areas for storing their personal items.
This area is kept in a neat and clean condition and is well maintained.
• Food should not be stored in lockers or consumed in locker rooms.
• Glass or any like materials are prohibited in the food processing and storing areas, including locker
and lunch rooms.
• No sleeveless shirts, tank tops, cut off shirts, shorts or open toed shoes are allowed in any food
processing area. Non-slip shoes are to be worn in the production areas.
• All visitors/contractors are to sign in and out of the facility and shall enter through either the front
office or maintenance shop. All other doors are to be closed and locked unless they are in use.
• Visitors/Contactors must be escorted by designated King’s Hawaiian personnel at all times and are
not permitted to enter areas that are not a designated part of their visit. Raw materials and finished
products are not to be handled unless approved by King’s Hawaiian escort.
• Taking photos, films, or videos are not permitted inside the King’s Hawaiian facility.
