Every word in the Arabic language is either

masculine or feminine. The DEFAULT GENDER
for An ISM is MASCULINE. There are 6
Categories of feminine words. If a word does
not fall into one of these six categories, it is
masculine. Those are as follows:
 1. REAL FEMININE ( A girl, A woman, etc.)

2. WORDS THAT END WITH ‫ ة‬or ‫ اء‬or ‫ى‬

3. BODY PARTS IN PAIRS
( Hands, Eyes, Legs, Feet, Ankles, etc.)

4. SPECIFIC NAMES OF PLACES

( Egypt, America, Makkah, etc.)

5. NON-HUMAN PLURALS
(Masjids, Books, Trees, Pens, etc.)

6. BECAUSE THE ARABS SAID SO:
