A Detailed Question Paper Analysis of

NSE-P (National Standard Examination in Physics) 2022

On 27th November 2022, NSE-P (National Standard Examination in Physics) - 2022 exam was
conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) at many centers all over the
country. NSE-P is the stepping stage for selection of aspiring and talented students in the Physics
Science Olympiad Program. The student can move forward to other stages only after clearing
this stage.

● Eligibility:
- Must be eligible to hold an Indian passport.
- Date of birth between 1 July 2003 and 30 June 2008, both days inclusive.
- Must be residing and studying in India since 30 November 2020 or earlier. Must
be studying in an Indian school system since 30 November 2020 or earlier.
- Must not have completed (or scheduled to complete) class 12 board examination
earlier than 30 November 2022.
- Must not have commenced (or planning to commence) studies in a university or
equivalent institution by 1 June, 2022.
- Must not be appearing in NSEJS 2022.

● Question Paper Pattern:

A) Q. No.1 to Q. No. 48 are multiple choice questions with one alternative correct. +3
marks credit for correct choice. -1 mark penalty for incorrect choice.
B) Q. No. 49 to 60 are multiple choice questions with one or more than one correct
alternatives. 6 marks shall be awarded if all the correct alternatives are attempted and no
incorrect option(s) should be marked.

● The maximum marks for the paper was equal to 216 marks.

● The duration of the paper was 2 hours.

OVERALL MARKS DISTRIBUTION

As per Aakash Byju’s experts in NSE-P, 29 questions with a total coverage of 102 marks
belonged to Class 11th syllabus & 31 questions with a total coverage of 114 marks belonged to
Class 12th syllabus. The questions in the paper were approximately divided in equal
proportional from both the classes.

As per Aakash Byju’s experts in NSE-P, 9 questions constituting 27 marks were easy, 43
questions constituting 153 marks were of medium difficulty & 8 questions constituting 36 marks
were the most difficult.
