THE CONCEPT OF BOYCOTT IN ISLAM
Thesis Defense
In general, the lawPresentation
of boycott is “fardu kifayah” for the Muslim population whose country is
not invaded, as is the case for the law of jihad to take up arms. Because of that, outwardly
the law of boycott is a “fardu ain” on the population invaded by the enemy such as
Palestine. For residents outside the region, the law is “fardu kifayah”. The duty of “fardu
ain” is when the slogan of war is declared for the people of a country.

BOYCOTT AS A JIHAD IN ISLAM

The Prophet SAW said: Use your property, your persons any your tongues in striving against the polytheists.

Based on the definition of boycott by the Oxford dictionary, boycott something to refuse to buy, use or take part in
something as a way of protesting. Usually boycott can also be interpreted by using words that are prohibition,
rejection, threat, prevention, obstacle and others in accordance with the word of God in Surah Al-Mumtahanah
[60];9 :
