I am greatly humbled to express my interest for the position of a driver as advertised in your
organization. I am a mature male Ugandan national with a certificate in Mechanics and driving from
Manjiya training school Mbale and with a certificate in defensive driving from Toyota.

I have experience in driving all types of 4x4 vehicles with good skills in motor- vehicle mechanics
through professional trainings and working with different international organizations such as Medicine
San Frontiers Holland (MSF), ACTED Uganda – Kenya, Samaritans Purse Uganda, ACDI VOCA
(RWANU Consortium project and Farm Africa L4L in Kotido.

I have a valid driving permit/ license of B, DL and CM class from Uganda; I have a clean track record in
driving in different road terrains in Uganda and with a broad work experience driving. I am
knowledgeable in vehicle management and maintenance through regular/daily checks and servicing with
excellent understanding of traffic rules, regulations and precautions in transportation of passengers. I
have developed knowledge in administration and procurement and now have three-year experience
working as driver and assistant for L4L project with good knowledge in computer.

In my previous roles, I have been receiving excellent feedback from my supervisors which proves my
strong integrity and commitment to perform my responsibilities in a professional and effective manner. I
love team work, but I am also comfortable working on my own with minimum supervision.
Furthermore, I am good communicator, accurate and goal oriented.

I believe that my extensive experience in driving make me an ideal candidate for the advertised position.
As you can see in the enclosed resume, I have been working with the different organizations for a
couple of years. And since my responsibilities and duties were quite similar to those required in the
advert, I strongly believe that I can perform well in all the delegated duties and tasks.

Driver, June 2018 – Aug 2021
 Safely operated the Farm Africa vehicle in accordance to Uganda traffic laws and Farm Africa's vehicle use
policy which has enabled me to support the project for over 3 years without getting involved in an accident
or getting traffic charges.
 Safely drove Farm Africa staff and officials to various locations across Karamoja sub-region in the districts
of Napak, Kotido, Moroto and Nakapiripirit as per the movement plan.
 Maintained an accurate log book for fuel consumption, mileage and usage of assigned vehicle and thought
appropriate authorization for every trip.
 Regularly cleaned the project vehicle and conducted regular checks, for example oil, water, tyres, and
reported any issues promptly to the Project Accountant and Administrator.
 Conducted and oversaw minor repairs of the assigned vehicle like changing tyres and wipers.
 Arranged major vehicle repairs with appropriate service providers whenever need arose and with the
appropriate authorizations according to Farm Africa's procurement procedures.
