Semi-detailed Lesson Plan

Grade 12 HOPE

I. MELC: Engages in moderate to vigorous physical activities (MVPA’s) for atleast 60 minutes most
days of the week in a variety of settings in-and-out-of school.
Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
a. Identify the different Hand Movements and Positions in Cheer dance.
b. Appreciate the value of proper exercise to the efficient and effective performance in Cheer
Dance.
c. Execute the Hand Movements and Positions in Cheer Dance properly.

II. Subject Matter


a. Main Topic: Basic Hand Movements in Cheer Dance
b. Reference: PE and Health, Quarter 1and 2- Module 5 (Cheer Dance)
c. Materials: Laptop, Visual Materials, Speaker
d. Value Focus: Social Awareness

III. Procedure
Classroom Management

A. Preparatory Activities
1. Review
Good afternoon, Class. Before we proceed to our next lesson, let us have first a short recap on what we
discussed in the last meeting.
The students will give their prior knowledge about Cheer Dance.

2. Motivation
Add and Find Me!
Direction: Identify the statement/topic with the use of the chart. The students will find the synonym of
the word flash on the screen by solving the equivalent number shown.
B. Developmental Activities
During your PE 10, have you performed cheer dancing? We will see if you can still remember the basic
movements and formations used in cheer dancing.
Let’s begin…

Activity:
Demonstrate This and That!
The teacher will read the execution of each Hand Movement and the students will demonstrate to their
classmate the Hand Movement read by the teacher.

2. Analysis
How did you find the activity? I noticed that you know at least some of them.
Who among you here already watched a cheer dance performance? Did you observe the different hand
movements?
The teacher will play video/s that will help the learners understand the lesson better.

3. Abstraction
MATCH UP!
The class will be group into two. Each group will answer set of match up activity.
The group will match up the definition and the picture of different hand movement and positions shown
on the slide. They will drag the pictures to its correct definition.
4. Application
You will be divided into 2 groups.
Each group will perform 5 Hand Movements and Positions in Cheer Dance with music. Eight seconds
transition time. Create a group pose at the end of the performance.

Ask the learners to prepare their task for 10 minutes.
