Gender, Subjectivity, and Presentation

If talking about gender, we are talking about feminism. when talking about gender (sex) we
were also talking about man and woman not man only or woman only. Although the feminism
influence cultural studies, not every feminism theory relates to cultural studies and not every
cultural studies are talking about gender. Feminism is the theory that discuss about woman.

Franklin et al. (1991) shows amount of same attentional things between cultural studies with
feminism. Franklin et al interested on feminism and cultural studies aspiration on connecting
social movement and politics outside of academy and interested with the criticism vis-a-vis
discipline which is very establishedestablished for the example sociology and English
Department. Cultural studies and feminism are having the same substantive importance on
authority issues, representation, pop culture, subjectivity, identity and consumption. Feminism
is the theory that support woman has the same right with man. Feminism theory helps those
woman around the world to achieve the equality.

In my experience especially on Minangkabau people, woman are the importance things on

Minangkabau. Line of descent are coming from mother. So it's mean if the mother's are coming
from outside of Minangkabau and the father are coming from Minangkabau their child are will
not have ethnic in their village. Minangkabau ethnic are really values the woman. We can see
how Minangkabau people are values the woman most from how they divide the glory or
treasure, on how the line descent is coming from. So if we were talking about feminism in
Minangkabau, Minangkabau woman are very valuable and has same importance role with man
on how educate their children, teach their children politeness. If we were talking about
politeness Minangkabau people has discussed about it and called it as " Kato Nan Ampek" What
is Kato Nan Ampek? Kato nan Ampek is divided into "Kato mandaki " This politeness described
how young people should talk to people whose old than them. " Kato mandata " This politeness
described how to talk with friends. " Kato malereang" This politeness described on how to talk
with the honor people in Minangkabau. "Kato manurun" This politeness described how to talk
with person whose younger than us.

Now we can see many cultural has coming from outside of our country and it is called pop
culture. The example of pop culture is online shopping, Using Tiktok app and etc. This culture
are coming from outside of our country and become a famous because our situation right now
is supported it for this culture to develop in our society.

Why feminism theory is existed? It is because of many people are think that woman is not the
same with the man because they are weak, too soft, to naive, and to sensitive, but feminism
theory is trying to makes the equality between woman and man. Woman and man need to
have same rights on every aspect of life such as woman can have a job outside the house and
don't waiting for man to give them the money.
