 THE BIOSPHERE
This is the area where life exists on, above, and below the surface of the Earth is referred to as the
biosphere. The biosphere is a small area of the earth's surface where soil, water, and air work
together to support life. Only in this region is life possible.
Us humans needs to remember that a lot of the things we do may or may not have a negative effect
or a positive effect in our surroundings, but during this research, let’s tackle the impact of our doings
 How do humans Affect this Sub System

HUMANS IMPACT ON THE

BIOSPHERE
If we tend to look around on our surroundings, We can
see that there are a lot of things that are created by us
Humans. This may or can cause a rupture or a good
effect on our biosphere. In terms of positive Effects,
These are the kinds of activities that we do in order to
save mother earth, These are activities like, Tree
Planting, Cleaning Up, Helping organizations that seeks
to clean spaces like beaches, rivers, etc. that are affected
by global warming or the negligence of humans.

There are also negative activities that humans do, like

deforestation, pollution, littering, negligence, mining,
etc. that can cause the death of some animals living
both in land and water, land slides, etc.
 Positive Effects of Human Activity

POSITIVE EFFECTS
Even though most of the time, humans uses materials
that have a potential of harming the environment,
some activities such as Planting, using clean energy or
solar panels, protecting natural resources, etc.

The effects of these activities are highly effective as it

allows our surroundings to survive. Tree planting
allows us to lessen the accidents of floods during
typhoon seasons, trees protects us from harm of the
sun, plants gives us fresh air that our body needs. The
use of solar panels, windmills are also highly effective
so that the energy does not take too much harm on the
environment as it only uses the wind and the sun to be
used.
 Nowadays, a lot of us neglect our roles in our environment. The least we
could do is to take care of it, because at the end of the day, we are going to be
one who benefits from the things that the environment provides us. Let’s
start taking care of our environment :)

Although a lot of us try to maintain the beauty of the Environment, a lot of factors
may affect it, such as man made activities, such as deforestation, wildfire, littering,
using dynamites to catch fish, etc.
 Negative Impacts of Human Activity

DEFORESTATION
Although wood is one of the essential materials in
building a lot of things. Cutting down trees may have
a negative impact in terms of a lot of things.
Deforestation have negative impacts like:

The Risk of Floods

Erosion
Landslides
Disruption of Water Cycles
Disrupted Livelihoods
that may result to the end of a lot of lives near those areas
who are going to be affected by the following impacts.
 Negative Effects

LITTERING
Littering is a factor why Pollution exists. It
also does not only affects us humans but
also poor animals living in water. A lot of the
garbage that humans threw in the ocean,
affects the living of animals living in water.

When fishes are affected by this kind of

activity., It may also harm us humans by a
possibility for food poisoning, etc.

Littering affects every ecosystem, hindering

animals and humans to enjoy the beauty of
our dear Mother Earth

 ITS EFFECT ON HUMANS

EFFECT ON HUMANS
it may cause a huge disruption, as the
environment provides resources for foods, if it
continues to be destroyed, it won’t have the
capacity to provide our neccessities anymore .
Meaning we wouldn’t have any source of food. We
would cry for food and water, We would not
survive because apparently, everything that we
are taking advantage right now are the things
that are slowly dying.
WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO UNDERSTAND
HOW THE FIELD OF EARTH SYSTEM SCIENCE
DEVELOPS?
As a student, It is important to understand how earth systems get affected by
the things we do. We should be aware of how we can care for those systems,
that are providing the things we need in life. It’s necessary for us to
understand the things that involves us. If we don’t understand how our
actions affect our environment, it may lead to us losing it forever. Knowing and
Understanding makes us aware of the things that are happening that may
affect not just us humans but also animals and the environment. We should
always be mindful, and caring towards to the earth system.
