A. CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
▶︎It focuses on the learner as a recipient of the
knowledge, skills and values for artistic
expression and cultural literacy.

▶︎Effective learning occurs through active

experience, participation, and performance,
creative expression, aesthetic valuation, critical
response, and interpretation.

▶︎Skills developed: reading/analyzing,

listening/observing, performing using different
art materials, techniques and processes,
responding, composing, and creating.

B. PHILOSOPHY AND RATIONALE

Philosophy of Arts

It is the study of the nature of art

including the concept of interpretation,
representation, expression and form.
Closely related to aesthetics⎼the
philosophical study of beauty and taste.
It is distinguished from arts criticism.

05
Who wrote the philosophy of art?
▶︎The Philosophy of Art of Karl Marx, first
published in 1933, is one of the major works
of the Russian aesthetician and literary critic
Mikhail Aleksandrovich Lifshitz.

▶︎Like philosophy, art also has a profoundly

communicative function. Through it people
communicate to one another their feelings,
their most intimate and infinitely varied and
poignant thoughts.

06
RATIONALE Art provides a creative and
intellectual playground for students, a place
of wonder and surprise, a place to learn and
grow.

Learning in, through, and about the visual arts

promotes open-ended, divergent, and
dialogic thinking and encourages
understanding and feeling mediated through
body, mind, and the senses.

▶︎ CURRICULUM - set of courses and learning

materials used by educational institutions and
organizations.

Spiral Progression Approach
Curriculum support classroom management

12
BENEFITS OF USING CURRICULUM TO
SUPPORT CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

▶︎The curriculum can teach children about appropriate behaviors.

The curriculum can provide lessons on appropriate behavior, which can help to set
the tone for the classroom and establish rules and expectations.

It can also help to reinforce positive behavior, provide opportunities for students to
practice expected behaviors, and give teachers strategies for addressing
inappropriate behavior.

▶︎The Curriculum Reinforces Classroom Rules

Teachers can use the curriculum to teach classroom rules and procedures and why
they exist to their students. This will make it easier for children to remember them
in the future.

13
BENEFITS OF USING CURRICULUM TO
SUPPORT CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

▶︎Preventing discipline problems

Curriculum can help to prevent these problems from occurring. By providing a clear
structure and expectations for students, a curriculum can help them to stay on task
and behave appropriately in class.

▶︎Curriculums provide consistency

Curriculums provide that consistency by teaching the same material in a structured
way each day. Consistency allows students to feel secure and know what to expect.

▶︎The curriculum helps with the culture of the classroom

A positive classroom culture can help to create an effective learning environment
for students. There are many things that teachers can do to help create and
maintain a positive classroom culture, including using a curriculum that supports
the culture of the classroom. 14

SPEAK IN MANY LANGUAGES WITHOUT A
TRANSLATOR.
