Industrial Harmony
■ Industrial harmony refers to a friendly and
cooperative agreement on working
relationships between employers and
employees for their mutual benefit (Otobo,
2005; Osad and Osas, 2013).

According to Puttapalli and Vuram (2012),


industrial harmony is concerned with the
relationship between management and
employees with respect to the terms and
conditions of employment and the work
place.

Industrial Harmony
Index (IHI)
merupakan inisiatif Jabatan Perhubungan Perusahaan
Malaysia (JPPM) sebagai satu instrumen untuk mengukur
tahap keharmonian perusahaan dalam usaha
mempertingkatkannya ke arah yang lebih baik.
Dalam suasana tempat kerja yang harmoni, wujud
hubungan yang baik antara majikan dengan pekerja dan
juga kesatuan sekerja seperti saling hormat-menghormati,
bekerjasama, bertolak ansur dan mengamalkan
pengurusan sumber manusia yang baik.

■ KUALA LUMPUR: Pindaan kepada Akta Perhubungan Perusahaan


1967 (Akta 177) diluluskan sebulat suara oleh Dewan Negara,
kelmarin, bagi memastikan hak pekerja setara dengan piawaian
antarabangsa dan mematuhi konvensyen Pertubuhan Buruh
Antarabangsa (ILO).
■ Pindaan yang dibentangkan itu mendapat reaksi positif dan
mencetuskan perbahasan yang hangat dalam kalangan Senator
sebelum diluluskan.
■ Kementerian Sumber Manusia dalam kenyataan, semalam, berkata
pindaan itu adalah sebahagian daripada janji Nombor 35 Manifesto
Pilihanraya Pakatan Harapan (PH) bagi memenuhi piawaian
perburuhan antarabangsa, yang akan membawa transformasi
kepada landskap perhubungan perusahaan dalam negara ini.
