Pre-lesson
1. Pupils stand in two lines. They start playing the Board Race when the whistle blows.
2. The fastest team wins. However, marks will be deducted if they give wrong answers.
3. Pupils remove the wrong answers in the list and group the verb on the word wall accordingly.
4. Pupils guess what they are going to learn today.
Lesson delivery
SC 1: determine the correct past tense verb (Skimming & Scanning)
1. Pupils listen to a story. Determine the tenses in the story.
2. Pupils choose and draw a suitable a mind map on a mini board telling types of tenses in the story.
3. Pupils show their mind map. Give the evidence of their answers. Reward them.
4. Pupils build and read SC 1
ACTIVITIES SC 2: generate some ideas (Membawang & Round Robin)
1. Pupils look at a picture and answer some questions in full sentences.
2. Pupils gather the answers and look the teacher multiply the ideas. Insert proverb/similes/idioms/interesting words.
3. Pupils continue to answer by playing Membawang. They paste the questions on mahjong paper.
4. Pupils answer all questions by playing Round Robin.
5. Pupils present their work randomly.
6. Pupils build and read SC 2.
SC 3: use past tense in sentences correctly (Choice Board)
1. Pupils choose a task from the Choice Board (diary / story)
2. Pupils do the assessment for learning (2 stars and 1 wish) on their friend’s writing
Post-lesson
1. Charade: Pupils pass the parcel and he/she needs to do the action stated on the word card they pick in the box.
The whole class guesses. Reward those are able to answer. Extra reward to those who are able to make a sentence.
